Who's got the best solutions for keeping large quantities of beer at a reasonably cool temperature? cool box, as i understand, is limited in its timescale for 5 days, and there is almost nothing worse than a warm beer

I haven't tried this but apparently adding rock salt to the ice in a cooler keeps it frozen for longer.

That piece of wisdom is courtesy of a guy at Walmart who shared it with me while I was shopping for camping gear for Coachella, so it can definitely be trusted..

Dig a hole under your tent and keep them there. It goes without saying, fill it in when you leave to avoid hurting the cows.

+1 for under the groundsheet. Around 1pm on the Monday in 2010 we were packing up and found 2 cans remaining we had somehow not noticed, both were refreshingly cool, not even a touch of warmth, despite it being such a hot year.

I use a coolbag with the usual ice blocks... But I add a Space Blanket inside the coolbag, really does work. Bag was fairly cool even by Monday morning...

Where are you planning to camp? The spectacle of a grown human woman burrowing into the ground is something I'm oddly curious to see in action.

You don't have to keep all of your beer cold for the whole of the festival. Just chill what you're going to drink.

A washing up bowl full of water with your cans inside and a wet tea towel draped across the top and dangling in the bowl. The towel draws up the water, which evaporates and the evaporation causes cooling. Seems to work.

Alternatively we had a three way fridge/cool box that ran on Calor. Packed it full of fresh fruit and veg and some drink.

As the festival progressed and the fresh food got eaten it was replaced with more beer.

The fridge worked well enough that it could produce ice cubes as well as keeping everything inside cold.

You can buy 2.5kg of dry ice for less than £30 online (you can buy it in supermarkets abroad) pour this into a cool box and it should get really cold and keep contents cool for days.
