Maybe it should be renamed the Political Field and should encourage debate by speakers from both 'right' and 'left' - however you define that these days.

I'm 'left' but I still enjoy hearing a good debate with speakers from across the political spectrum.

I certainly don't believe that any 'side' has a monopoly of all the solutions and I enjoy views being challenged.

I also start from the view, some may call it simplistic or naive, that most people enter politics with a genuine desire to improve the lot of others. When then has to be examined or challenged are the solutions that they propose,

For example, on Overseas Aid, there are differing views on what might help. Some might argue that buying from Primark provides employment, others might say it just helps the rich get richer and the poor stay poor.

So let's have a political field for some decent debates. And some of the information might just rub off.

Blimey. This ran!

The point I was trying make was that Glastonbury would be a very different festival were it not run by someone with socialist beliefs. Michael Eavis' history, ethos and choices have led to the festival being what it is. Ergo, if you like what the festival is - and not just the Leftfield - then what you are enjoying is the outcome of an enterprise run with socialist views and a socialist conscience. To say you like the festival, but don't agree with it's politics is therefore a contradiction as it's politics made it what it is. It would be very different otherwise. In my opinion.

I like the festival because it always seems to have the best line up of any festival, I couldnt give a shit about anything else and Ive made the point time and time again on here that the "spirirt of glastonbury" ect ect is not considered by about 95% of the festival when decided on going to glastonubry or when they are actually there.

Can we have more line-up suggestions for this?

Think we've got Jim Davidson compering with Nigel Farage and Nick Griffin giving the keynote addresses. Music from Phil Collins and Geri Halliwell, perhaps? Has Ted Nugent got a passport? John Terry might be up for it. That Tory boy who was on Have I Got News For You last night would get em going. Any others?

The Nazis (national socialists) were clearly not right wing then, they certainly made immediate/radical/large scale change. If the Nazis WERE socialists that might explain their love of mass murder ala Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao etc.

Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao - no actual socialists in that bunch. It's also quite clear that the Nazis weren't socialists either - given that they competed against them electorally, and then banned them. Hitler nicked a fair smattering of socialist policy, but that didn't make his ideology a socialist one by any means.

It's quite possible to usher in radical change on the back of a regressive ideology. Fascism was undeniably regressive in it's outlook, presentation, and cultural focus.

Do tell me about the last elections in The Democratic[\b] People's Republic of Korea.

Neither the left nor right have a monopoly on mass murdering dictators however to call the nazis left wing, (or for that matter to call Stalin a socialist) shows either a massive level of ignorance, wilful or not.
