Best sets I've ever seen are probably

Arcade Fire in the tent

Gaslight Anthem on the Lock Up (they have never been as good since)

NIN on main

Big D & The Kids Table

Pixies

Peaches (she was so good the next day I went to the town centre and got her cds to play to people at my camp)

White Stripes mid-billing on main

Weezer

Green Day (I wasn't keen before hand but now one of my favourite live bands)

Mark Lanegan

Gogol Bordello in a tent

Infadels

Seasick Steve

Faith No More

08: Goldfinger, Pendulum, Frank Turner

09: Faith No More

10: Arcade Fire, Weezer, Queens of the Stone Age, Biffy Clyro

11: Muse, Pulp

12: The Cure, Feeder, The Black Keys, Foo Fighters, The Hives, Mongol Horde

They're the set's that have stood out for me from each year, probably some others would be up there if I'd known the bands a bit better before.

Carter USM 1991

Nine Inch Nails main stage 2007

Pendulum on Radio 1 tent in 2006 I think it was

Mudhoney 1990

New Model Army 1989

Maximo Park headlinging Radio 1 tent in 2007

RATM everytime they played...but probably especially 2000 when they made the likes of Limp Bizkit look....well rubbish frankly.

So glad loads of people are saying Weezer! Hands down the best non headline set i have ever seen at a festival

Apart from that i would go for:

Foo Fighters 2012

Green Day 2012

The Libertines 2010

Blink 182 2010 (Not a great live band but the atmosphere was incredible)

Radiohead 2009

Last year was my first, and finally seeing The Cribs was special, really good atmosphere too, so I'd say they were my favourite.

However this footage of the Chili's in '94 looks incredible, shame I wasn't alive to witness it.

    • I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift
    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
