30stm??? Come on hart, it was like a Robbie Williams concert, leto sang about 5 lines from each song. Only difference was the crowd wasn't singing back.

I was actually quite looking forward to them but it was a horrible performance. You must really be a big fan to have enjoyed that

I'm trying to remember the 08 set, but all I can remember is the incredible crush as people packed in for Rage, so I think because of that I enjoyed the 10 set more. Plus didn't they open with Feel Good Hit of the Summer and Lost Art of Keeping a Secret? That was pretty good. Neither of them were the best I've seen Queens though.

Josh said in 2008 they played a pretty chilled set (for them) as they knew everyone wanted to go wild for RATM and they didn't wanna burn everyone out. Cool gesture really. Plus it meant we got to see this amazing altered version of Go With The Flow!

Limp Bizkit - 2000 (while I was still young enough to be allowed to enjoy them lol)

Marilyn Manson - 2001

Muse - 2002

AFI - 2003

Green Day - 2004

NIN - 2007

RATM - 2008

Faith No More - 2009

Weezer - 2010

MCR - 2011

Those are the ones I always remember anyway.

Radiohead in 2009 just edges out Nine Inch Nails in 2007 - and I think that's solely because I knew all of Radiohead's set but only knew half of NIN's.

Highly honourable mentions go to Brand New in 2007 in the R1 Tent, Arcade Fire in 2005 in the R1 Tent (and on the main in 2007 and 2010), Metallica in 2008, Rage Against the Machine in 2008, and Muse in the rain closing the main stage at Leeds in 2006.

Weezer in 2010 was everything that a festival setlist should be.

MCR in 2011 was great because it was surprisingly good, I was somehow right at the barrier at Leeds without meaning to be and just loved all the effort they put into their stage. I saw them at TITP that year too and on tour and they were nothing like that. It was awesome to see a band sink their money into a performance to make it memorable.

The Hives at 2012 was ridiculous. It was my first time seeing them and I'm now just angry at myself for not going to see them on all the previous tours. Saw them at Glasgow a few months later and they were just as good.

Kasabian in 2012 was great too. Again, didn't expect a lot, they were my least favourite headliner but they just put on a really good show.

Not got a lot of festivals to choose from but those were my personal highlights.

I tell you a great one people haven't mentioned!

Ash following enter shikari 2007. If, like me, you already couldn't stand KOL in those days or razor light, then it was a great double booking which seemed to cater for alot of us rock folk! Ash starting with lose control was amazing!

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
