Incidentally the comments about the showers outside the festival site may not be so far-fetched. If you head north up the road (left out of the campsite, right out of the festival site) as far as the traffic lights, then take a left, there's a kind of village hall/community centre about 75 metres down on the left. They definitely open up their nice clean toilets to festivalgoers for a fee, and while I may be imagining it, I'm 90% certain they also had showers in there people could pay to use.

Not neccesarily. 2manydjs closed it in 2010 and they were below QOTSA on the bill. Netsky and If my memory serves me correctly Chase and Status (DJ set) finished the first two days last year on the main stage and both were down the bill.

I'm of the opionon that the XX will be a bit of a low key thing to finish on.

Agreed. More house and techno is needed. Thought the Boiler Room was poor last year (they put the DJ booth to the side as opposed to the back of the tent which didn't help with the atmosphere in my opionoionion)

A couple of big house names, Carl Cox, David Morales etc would go down a treat. Personally hoping Etienne De Crécy gets announced with the full Beats and Cubes.

Just checked out Paul Kalkbrenner as well -seems boring as f#@k.

What's left to announce now Semprini, would you be of the opunion that it will be a case of "here come the Belgians" (too soon)? With just local bands, or will there be any more bigish names to come? Either way there's lots on the lineup for me already and ive not done much digging on the smaller bands which i will invariably miss due to the quality of the complimentary nibbles in the drug store and Daves illiterate ramblings.

Carl Cox closing the Main would be amazing but there's no way they would go for that.

Not sure who will we get now tbh Jimmy but think it will mostly be bands lower down the bill. I'm quite surprised (but not in a bad way) that there are currently so few bands (3) on the line up who are also playing V Fest. There's usually a fair bit of overlap so I'd like to see Basement Jaxx, The Courteeners and Rudimental added. Looking at R&L, there's loads of bands already announced for PP but as dietediet mentioned the likes of Phoenix, Alt J, Jake Bugg, Tame Impala could be in with a shout once RW sells out. Only doubt I have with this theory is that we've already got Kendrick Lamar, Boys Noize, Haim and Goose playing both.

Hi everyone. I will go to Pukkelpop this year. I have a question for you about food and cooking in campsite, it's possible using a camp stove for cooking for exmple pasta or another ready-to-cook foods? Is there anyone that leave from Italy? Thanks

Andrea

Good to see !!! back again.

For my money they completely ruled Pukkelpop in 2005 when they headlined the Club stage on the last night. Delayed me getting to Nick Cave on the main stage - which as anyone who knows me will tell you, is quite some achievement, seeing as Sir Nick is pretty much God as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone who doesn't know them should check out 'Me and Giuliani Down by the Schoolyard' - cracking tune.

Can anybody tell me regarding will there be late night regional buses after every night? Came across a old page from 2011 saying they had special buses, did not find anything from 2012. Aiming to stay in a hotel in Genk!

Also asking if there is no late night bus how much would a taxi set me back?

Cheers for any info! :)

Has anyone stayed at the camp site on Wednesday? I've been to pukkelpop once before but I arrived on Thursday. Are there usually a lot of people arriving on Wednesday? Is there anything happening at the festival site on Wednesday, any bands / djs? How many stages are open?

When is it best to get there? As soon as they open the camp sites or later on? I know that at some festivals it can get crowdy when the gates open. As I can remember, when we got there on Thurdsay everything went smoothly, we didn't have to wait too long to get our wristbands and to get into the campsite. But it seemed that we were pretty much among the last people arriving so I have no idea how it works if you get there the day before. But I do have faith in excellent organizing skills of the pukkelpop staff :)

Thanks, any help will be much appreciated!

    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
