There was also a post with NIN and a load of other made up shit, I've never ever predicted NIN to headline.

blimey, then there is just one possible headliner gazza hasn't named.

As for the rest, he still can't help making it up from his fantasies rather than reference the facts.

Oh dear how sad never mind.

for the last time, Eminem does sing (well, rap) live, he just has a backing track to fill in for whenever he runs out of breath (due to his songs being quite demanding in the rapping department) along with a hype man. a lot of rappers do it. there are even some bands that do it. it's an irrelevant point

Oh the irony.

Nope, just gazza's gross stupidity, same as ever.

Gazza seems to forget that he endlessly mis-represents things I and plenty of others say, so whatever he thinks I might have done wrong he's been doing nothing different for years.

But mostly what he thinks I've done wrong is down to his own stupidity, his poor reading skills and his faked outrage anyway. Look at this....

There was a post dude this afternoon by them that states not one on here had mentioned Eminem, I clearly had,

.... when what I actually said was...

in the many hours before the announcement (efesters knew it was coming long before anyone else) not one person on here suggested him to be playing

... which is of course the indisputable truth.

Gazza did not mention eminem on announcement day until AFTER eminem had been announced.

Meanwhile he was quite happily speculating about who the announcement would be, happily mentioning other acts but not eminem. That's how 'right' he was about eminem - he was so 'right' and sure he was playing he forgot to mention him.

The question is would people be more annoyed at him rapping over a backing track or missing out lines while he catches his breath, I know its not ideal in both senses and can see why people dont credit him as a good live artist but surely he has picked a better option than moments of silence

Shinedown are guilty of this aswell and I'm sure a few other bands are not innocent to playing backing tracks behind the vocals

I'd have slightly more respect if he changed it slightly so he could do it live. It's part of the reason why many people go see live acts, as it's not exactly the same as the record. (I guess you could make an argument, why record it like if he can't do it live to..)

Gazza stop being such a sensitive soul. You gonna stop posting over something as small as getting credit for a wild guess? Its not worth getting upset about.

Back to Eminem..

Personally I can't wait, never seen him and am a massive fan. Surprised at people saying he is no good anymore when his last album was one of his best.

Plenty of rappers rap over a backing track. That won't bother me that much. I hope he plays with a live band though, that could make or break it for me.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
