Tents up as quickly as possible (on Wednesday) and then I'd recommend a wander in the general direction of the stone circle past the Brothers Bar. Admittedly it sometimes gets a bit hazy after the Brothers Bar. I've got a newbie with me this year and cannot WAIT to get him up to the top of the site so he can see his playground for the next 5 days stretching before him - all bathed in brilliant sunshine.

God, I cannot WAIT!

arrive early weds morn (although would be interested to hear which methods people use to get in on tuesday!?) as soon as the tent is up it's straight to the flag field with the first smoke. then slowly down to jazz world field for some rather strong cider, which you only really notice when you first stand up after a few!

and after that, well, who can remember?

similar to many others it seems!

Think I was the first person to get served at The Brothers bar last year. My mate arrived about half nine and since it was his first year I took him for a wander round the site and headed towards The Pyramid. Went past the Brothers bar and they were just opening and decided to have a pint. Must say it was quite nice but the rain at that time watered it down somewhat.

2010 was my first year and once i queued in the boiling heat for about 6 hours, got in and set up i had been awake for something like 38 hours. Had a little nap and think i explored.

Cant remember last year. I remember on the thursday morning and few of us walking around the green fields, which was my first time, and loving it all. Ended up laying by stone circle for a few hours.

Set up tent - have food/beer then head of to the healing fields for a massage to eradicate "rucksack shoulders" Then bimble round site. When it oges dark go and sit up in the park near the crows nest and just take it all in.

After an overnight Wednesday drive arriving on site c 5am usually a few hours kip.Afternoon is usually a full lap of the site for any newbies with us although wont have any in 2013. Tradition says a stop at the Croisant Neuf Bandstand to watch Biggles Wartime Band do the usual routine which despite knowing the sketch I always enjoy for some strange reason !

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
