There were only 137,500 "standard" tickets on sale on Sunday. The total revenue from selling 137,500 tickets at £205 is just over £28millon.

If you wanted to offer £135 tickets for one category of people (e.g. unwaged) and were prepared to do it via increasing the standard ticket price to £215 and you wanted to keep revenues the same then you could offer 120,000 tickets at £215 and 17500 at £135.

There would actually be a shortfall of £25k with that split - and as See would undoubtedly charge a bit extra for every "proof of unwaged status" they had to process I would expect that in the end the split would end up being a bit lower.

Absolutley true, but then again £200 spread over a year is what? Just short of £20 a month.

Less than what I reckon would be the average price of a night out once a month for a year.

People are always asking me how I afford to go to all the gigs and festivals I go too, when I'm currently only earning minimum wage. The people who ask, and then moan that they can't afford to do the same, are very often people who will go out drinking 3 or 4 times a month and comfortably spend £30, £40.... sometimes £50 plus on a night out. I chose to give a couple of those nights a miss, save my cash and do the two things I love doing, one of which is going to gigs and festivals (the other is going to the football).

It's all about prioritizing... sure it's not easy to stump up £200 plus, but if you want to go badly enough, maybe you might give a few other things that aren't quite so important to you a miss and save the cash for Worthy Farm wink.png

While i'm not against the idea in principle, but the only way to work it would be to assign "unemployed" status to a reg number BEFORE ticket day, and give those who are unemployed the OPTION to buy a ticket on a discount (less deposit in October, leading to cheaper ticket in April if of course they can provide proof they are still not working!). Forgetting admin costs etc

I'm not up for 17,500 tickets being set aside for one group just to be inclusive, making it harder in general for people to get tickets...

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
