Fancied a racing game, haven't played one in years so I picked up PGR 4 for 6.99 yesterday

You overpaid by about a fiver.

PGR3 is a MUCH better single-player game.

In PGR3 if - not when, if - you get the Platinum achievement you've really achieved.

But it takes zero skill to beat PGR4 in first-place. Time, but not skill.

PGR (I think of MSR as PGR0) is the only racing series that requires skill, that I can determine. The interplay between triggers is unsurpassed.

If you start to really get the hang of PGR4's handling, get PGR3 too.

Popped into Cash Generator today in Brum, picked up for PS3, Ridge Racer Unbounded £4.99 and Assassins Creed 2 £2.99

Got speaking to the guy on the counter said that they'd reduced all the game prices today, dunno if this is nationwide or each store gets to make their own prices?

He also said they had Last of Us in stock for £24.99 showed me the disc, like brand new, they weren't on the shelves for some reason though, weird... I passed, I'll pick it up later in the year.

About the time they announced Xbox 1 I think? I downloaded Assassins Creed II last week (or ordered it to be downloaded a couple of weeks ago..even though I have it on steam )

So tempted by a 3DS XL. I've absolutely no need for one, it's all want. Some great games available for that system now.

Thanks to PS+ I rarely buy games for my PS3 and Vita now, in fact I only have 3 physical PS3 games and one physical Vita game, and as far as the Wii U goes, that's just for Nintendo games, so that's a rarity...

So yeah, it's not as though I'll be buying loads for all those consoles... just trying to justify this to myself now.

Every now and then Nintendo seems to do a deal with the games/consoles where if you buy 3 3DS game you get a 4th one free or get Monsters Hunter 3 free with a console if your mate has a copy of the game etc, they haven't got anything like that right now but around Oct they have a big selection of new games out so they may do something like that again especially with xmas around the corner.

Just went on Hotukdeals and they have good deals listed.

Better than the vast majority of open-world games including those released years afterwards. It's up there with Saint's Row 2 and Sleeping Dogs.

I downloaded Crackdown over the weekend it is is great fun. It took a while to get going because I was dying constantly, but once I powered up my agility a bit I was leaping all over the place like a lunatic. More games need super human jumping ability!

I downloaded Crackdown over the weekend it is is great fun. It took a while to get going because I was dying constantly, but once I powered up my agility a bit I was leaping all over the place like a lunatic. More games need super human jumping ability!

Crackdown is a fantastic game, I played it for fucking donkeys. I got all of the orbs but 1 iirc, it was a right bastard that I just couldnt reach, I got close many times, but never actually got that "ping" sound. Think I might download it again to play for old times sake, some of the DLC was pretty good too. Taking out a stronghold with shit-tons of launched grenades and rockets was one of my highlights this gen. If you like Crackdown - just cause 2 is right up there for a fun sandbox with mad jumping and shooting skillz.

Crackdown 2 was good, but somehow didn't capture my imagination quite as much.

The good news about the Just Cause series is it's that team working on the open world Max Max game.

An experienced crew with two good open-world games behind them? Might be MM doesn't suck!!

This is good news.

Mind you, in the unlikely event I ever get a Xbox 540 (it's an Xbox 360 with an added 180) I'll keep the Kinect always on. Wouldn't dream of using it as a primary interface but as a secondary interface (head tracking, voice) it has great potential.

Realistically I'm going to have to get a gaming PC though. I helped Kickstart Elite Dangerous, just out of principle, and since I own an impending copy of that game I might as well get the machine to run it on.
