Perhaps they realised how bitchy they sounded & took the conversation down. RDB is a radio 1 dj after all, we all know they aren't allowed negative opinions on anything.

I suppose that could mean that the slot is still open, or it could be taken to mean that the Friday headliner just hasn't been announced yet. Either w

Apart from glastonbury , longitude , the Olympic stadiium , a host of European festivals but I can see them being there and at reading / Leeds

I'd actually rather like them to be the last headliner, but I don't see how you can think you're the only one to bring them up JohnConnell, if you care to look they've been discussed several times in this thread very thread.

id like vampire weekend, but cant help thinking they suit a sunny day more than in the dark? but ive yet to see them at night.

According to Rob Da Bank's twitter he's announcing big acts plural for Bestival and Camp Bestival tonight. So It'll be more then just the Friday night headliner (Although the way I read that suggests to me it could mean one for Bestival AND one for Camp Bestival rather then a number of B/CB acts.

So the exclusivity & the whole 'first festival he's played' stuff was a load of bollocks. Depending of course upon how you define a festival.

Yeah I think you would be clutching at straws to call the Hyde Park thing a festival in the traditional sense- but I suppose realistically how much does it matter? The agreed fees wd likely to have been agreed at the time based on the exclusivity, if anything has changed then presumably the contract allowed for it and the fee also allowed for it?

Elton's played Mercedes Benz World just round the corner from me with a chosen line up of support acts... that's a pretty open outdoor big space akin to a day long music festival.

Except everyone had to sit down in their allocated seats in the rain.
