I agree King Charles is dreadful tried desperately to listen to his album on spotify. God knows what they were thinking but some gr8 additions love Alt-Jand Patrick Watson and all the rest are sounding good

I saw Patrick Watson perform an acoustic version of "To build a home" at the Royal Albert Hall and it was truly incredible. I highly recommend a listen to it on Spotify. It's long but stick with it for the climax...

I actually thought Woods were great last year, but then I'm a big fan anyway.

Alt-J is the only other addition I've heard of, been really enjoying their album.

Looking forward to having a listen through the other bands, sure there will be some gems as always.

Very happy to see Patrick Watson. Actually one of my favourite singer/bands, definitely in the baroque pop realm, not afraid to be a little different. A very solid addition to the bill. Hope he gets a good slot.

Thanks for the Patrick Watson recommendations, really enjoyed the tracks mentioned and been listening to his newest album and really enjoying that, looks a great addition, I imagine he's too well-known for Tipi tent so hopefully will be on the Garden Stage.

got to say i do like what i have heard of ALT-J, and really pleased to see that Hurray FTRR are coming over - got into young blood blues over a year ago and cant believe they dont get the same press as (say) cold specks or even alabama shakes. the girl really has stories to tell.

I was thinking Calexico, but they have a one-off London gig on the 17th Sept, so unless they are doing EoTR then europe and then coming back seems unlikely. What about Animal Collective? They have a new album launching about 10th Sept.

Hmm, Calexico do seem to be going back and forth (they're on the continent in mid-september, then London, then back to Germany). But they don't have anything before 14 September, so they seem like a long shot.

If ticket sales are slower this year it would make sense for them to announce a higher profile name to ensure the sellout even if they have to stretch beyond the normal budget. Flips would fit the bill, as would Cave. Patti Smith or Calexico wouldn't.

As far as I'm concerned the line-up is already superb. Great mix of familiar old sounds and plenty of new stuff to discover. Have EOTR to thank for Lanterns on the Lake and Midlake entering my life last year. Hope I would be forgiven for banging on about Django Django but they would be the perfect act to lift the woods stage ahead of Coxon. Are the lads otherwised engaged. I'll happily go all out as one-man marketing machine if that happened. The world needs to Hail Bop!

Very weird though that the EotR announcements of Coxon playing, and of a special announcement to come on 2 Jul, and Blur's announcement of an announcement to come on 2 Jul, were all within an hour of each other. That's how conspiracy theories start...

Bella Union definitely told me that they had 2 more acts to announce. One was confirmed to them (at the time) and one wasn't. Whether that's now changed, I don't know, but that's what I was originally told.

Yes, I agree the line up is already superb and I'm already worrying about clashes! I'm just wondering if the term 'very special guest' is significant? Not 'headliner' or 'band'. Could this be someone appearing as a guest with one of the other bands/artists already announced ... just a thought .....

So looks like Blur's big event on 2 July is them playing new songs on a rooftop in London. Just a coincidence with the EoTR announcement....
