  1. I’m giggling at the thought of a bunch of hen-doers storming down the front of the Big Top to cause havoc during a Clipping or Armand Hammer show.
  2. Prediction time then! Partially also a wishlist because I'd be happy with all these acts. Woods headliners: The Decemberists (Thurs) Young Fathers Big Thief ANOHNI and the Johnsons Woods subs: Songhoy Blues Jockstrap Alvvays Garden headliners: Lankum Osees Kings of Convenience
  3. Would love for the following to be re-booked: Andy Shauf, Big Thief, Ian Noe, Makaya McCraven, Monophonics, Songhoy Blues, Altin Gun, Julianna Barwick, Les Amazones d’Afrique, Rolling Blackouts, Star Feminine Band, Buffalo Nichols, EJ Thackray, Moor Mother, Nala Sinephro, MC Yallah.
  4. Absolutely tons of great suggestions here, especially Ichiko Aoba, Moor Mother, Grouper, Mdou Moctar, Spellling, clipping., Haru Nemuri and Anna Von Hausswolff (plus the ones I also mentioned on my list).
  5. I’m the guy that posted the massive list, so just thought I’d share my usual methods for discovering new music: 1) Sign up for an account on the website RateYourMusic.com. This is how I discover probably 75% of the new music I listen to nowadays. I like to work my way through their yearly charts and filter by genres that interest me, so it’s easy to find e.g. the highest community-rated post-punk albums of 2023. The genres get super specific, so if you’re a big industrial metal or ambient americana fan, it should be pretty straightforward to find albums that you’re likely to enjoy. 2) Follow Earfeeder on Instagram. They haven’t posted since May for some reason, but they usually do these fantastic round-ups of the best albums released each month in a variety of genres. 3) Follow the weekly new releases threads on the DrownedInSound forum. 4) Check out other festival line-ups. I like to look at Le Guess Who? for inspiration, as their line-up is always super diverse and genre-bending.
  6. Wish I could replace the Dry Cleaning vocalist with literally anyone else, because they have pretty much all of the other ingredients required to make a semi decent post-punk band.
  7. I know you’re only being semi-serious, but still… hard, hard pass on that.
  8. Not a cargo shots person myself, but surely it's more important that people wear whatever they feel comfortable in?
  9. Jesus, they don't mess around do they? Looking at the line-up I'd also expect to see Snooper and Wednesday at EOTR, and possibly METZ. Might be too soon for Gilla Band to return, but you never know.
  10. Agreed - it's the best ambient album I've heard in quite some time. So serene and moving.
  11. Ooh, where did you read that he's planning to tour the UK next year? An early afternoon slot would be perfect - I can already picture 'Let's Pretend We're Not in Love' floating across the Garden Stage area.
  12. I could never contemplate skipping an event as magical as EOTR just because of some dirty toilets, but to each their own I guess.
  13. Might as well use this as a general 2024 wishlist thread. Going to focus on acts which have released an album this year. I've really enjoyed all of the following over the past 8 months and could definitely see at least a few of them making an appearance next year: Dougie Poole The Clientele Billy Woods & Kenny Segal Dudu Tassa & Johnny Greenwood Colin Stetson Young Fathers Kelela Tim Hecker Model/Actriz Lankum Andy Shauf Fever Ray REZN ANOHNI and the Johnsons The Lemon Twigs Susanne Sundfør The Canyon Observer Gia Margaret The Tubs Rắn Cạp Đuôi Lucy Liyou Hayden Pedigo Home Is Where Loopsel Maya Ongaku Terje Torkellsen The Reds, Pinks & Purples Nuovo Testamento Rose City Band Andrea Sluice Celestaphone Flyying Colours Ayano Kaneko
  14. Just seen the full list - Kings of Convenience would also be wonderful as a headliner. And I’m not sure how likely this is given that they don’t seem to have played in the UK since 2001, but an appearance by Bob Hund on the line-up would make my year.
  15. Most of those artists are a bit too big for EOTR now I think, at least if we’re measuring them against the size of the headliners in recent years. ANOHNI and the Johnsons seems the most likely, which I’d be really pleased with as the new album is amazing.
  16. I am shocked to see that I'm the only one who voted for Kokoko! Their set in 2019 was one of the best I've ever seen at the festival.
  17. Why are people so convinced that everyone is going to be rushing to the Garden Stage for Angel Olsen? UMO are massively popular and will attract a big crowd IMO.
  18. Such a shame they're probably clashing with the best band on the lineup (Dungen) 😞
  19. Lots of overlap with mine, and yeah it does look absolutely amazing when written out like this. That Dungen vs. Charlotte Adigéry partial clash is really annoying though... hoping the final stage times look a little different to the clashfinder. Thursday: Beige Banquet > Deerhoof > Heartworms > HMLTD Friday: Friendship > Blue Bendy > Say She She > Horse Lords > Daniel Norgren > Kokoko! > Sessa > Yeule > Angel Olsen > Panda Bear and Sonic Boom > Yune Pinku Saturday: Mabe Fratti > They Hate Change > Donna Thompson > Avalanche Kaito > Tapir! > Caroline > Kokoroko > 75 Dollar Bill > Dungen > last bit of Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul > Arooj Aftab Sunday: Enys Men with live score > MADMADMAD > TEKE::TEKE > Charley Crockett > Alogte Oho > Lee Fields > Caitlin Rose > first bit of Fatoumata Diawara > Allah-Las > Yot Club > King Gizzard > Infinity Knives
  20. I love her, but there's so much strength in depth on this year's line-up that unfortunately she narrowly missed out on my top 10!
  21. Arooj Aftab Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul Yeule Dungen Kokoko! Horse Lords Sessa Avalanche Kaito Friendship Teke::Teke
  22. Sensational KEXP set by Mabe Fratti & band. Definitely one not to miss.
  23. This line-up just gets more and more stacked! Some fantastic additions in there - Fatoumata Diawara, Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, Deerhoof, Allah-Las, King Tuff and Sessa are all great.
  24. blurman is starting to sound like a broken record. I've never seen someone so bitter about losing £60.
  25. Lol, there are literally zero 'has-beens' on the line-up. Well, I suppose you could make an argument for Wilco, though I still think their recent releases are decent even if they don't quite scale the heights of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and Summerteeth.
