The girl saying that she made up rape allegations to cope with her son's illness reminds me of an episode of Jeremy Kyle when a bloke explained that he sent a girl a dick pic because he had a bad day at work

'Cause you had a bad day

You pull your pants down

You take a dick pic and you send it around

You know, while I thought NMH were ace live, they were far from the best act I've seen this year. Which is a little disappointing because I thought they'd be the best live act ever before I actually caught them.

Out of interest, howcome? I don't think I've ever read anything about them having an amazing live reputation, and from videos I've watched, whilst they look great, it's nothing mind blowing.

Tbf, I've seen The Cure this year (and I booked NMH way before The Cure was ever announced) + I discovered Darlia  so maybe that was a big factor as I just compared them all to each other. I enjoyed NMH but there seemed to be something extra lacking. Still a better than decent act live though.

Some super crazy people have been known to close their shows with Starlight where the frontman decides to act like Bono, though, so that doesn't mean so much.

    • Any festival is going to face most of the same limitations just by the nature of the event. It's not realistic to accommodate custom staging that extends out deep into the field. Trying to do so and trying to rebuild those kind of structures at the front of the field every day would severely impact on other performers, potentially even including other headliners. It'd also drive everyone involved insane. The most you can get away with is a basic extension that doesn't hide anything fancy. Remember that a lot of the time on these big choreographed shows, the stage extension itself will contain all manner of things to help the show beyond just being a simple platform. Also remember that these structures are designed to be assembled and operate on perfectly flat stadium or arena floors.   In terms of the stage itself - yes, the Pyramid is undersized (I believe 16 metres wide at rigging level). The de facto industry standard has become 20 metres and so it likely does need increasing and apparently there are plans to do so. But that only helps with artists that can largely confine themselves to the stage.   The Other Stage is already 20 metres - to be exact the Other Stage structure is the same model that Serious Stages provide to Reading, Leeds, Download etc for use as their Main Stage and there's nothing larger (at least off the shelf) in their catalogue. So no reason to change that.
    • Can someone remind me, on Harry Styles specifically - have we had any concrete info on him?   I don't personally remember saying much/anything on him, though I have just been away for a month, so could be forgetting something.
