They headline festivals because they're an iconic band. Practically all of their albums have charted in the top 20, with most of those getting in the top 10. They could tour every year like Kasabian & they'd still headline fests.

The only reasons Green Day are more popular is because my peers are (mostly) retarded

This is just something I want to throw out there...

there are a group of 20 girls from my school going to reading this year, and some said to me today they hardly know any bands on the lineup, and when I asked about green day they said "Oh that emo band right". They said "who" when I said system of a down, and they only knew one alt-j song.

So I asked them, why are you going to reading?

"they said, because the best act that has ever walked this earth is headlining, eminem!"

Look, you can choose not to believe it if you want, you can choose to argue with me but I know i'm right, there are an awful lot of people going, who don't give a fuck about anyone else but eminem. This girl that's going asked if there was going to be any more hip hop artists...

This is a reason why I'm not going this year, the lineup is good but nothing that grabs me, i'm going to glasto instead. But I have a feeling that the reading crowd is going to be much much different, and I only hate to think what the eminem crowd will be like, not even kidding this girl who I was speaking to didn't know any biffy clyro songs!

Eminem will undoubtedly get the biggest crowd of the weekend, stop trying to trick yourselves otherwise by thinking "you'd be suprised yadadadada".

Had some bloke round to do our bathroom and I had to stay in because I was off school and 'rents were working. He had Pearl Jam - Black, Soundgarden - Fell On Black Days and Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings on throughout the day. Could of stayed for longer if he wanted!
