Some absolute bell end on the Facebook site:

"Stone Roses should have been one of the headliners, now wouldn't mind seeing Arctic Monkeys headline, or in my opinion the Courteeners are good enough! Certainly better than the Foo Fighters from last year. Acts that should get a spot are The Vaccines again, The View, Beady Eye, Miles Kane, The Libertines, The Enemy, Echo&The Bunnymen who are reuniting to support James, and the Happy Mondays."

*sigh*

By the way, does anyone know roughly how long it takes for the Volunteering places to get filled up? I'm thinking I'm gonna do that rather than shelling out for a ticket (I'll probably be in a good position for shift swapping given I don't give a fuck about Eminem), but I can't afford the deposit atm :P

Ah, I didn't realise there was a second stage. The fact that they're below The Cribs still though suggests they may play in a lower position to last time, although I guess they may be more popular at R&L

Does that mean there's more to be announced then?

Yeah, they've headlined the tent the last two times they've played R&L but playing below a band that only subbed it last year may suggest that they'd be lucky to get that sort of slot again.

As for HRC I'm struggling to remember but last year I think they had five bands on the main stage (KIGH, Black Stone Cherry, that Aussie band, Iggy Pop and Soundgarden) and three or four on the second as well as a small third stage so yeah I'd say that there's more to come (although no big acts).

the best way to pass time on this forum is to argue about bands. yesterday it was RHCP in the hot seat. Today I feel we should discuss.......Avenged Sevenfold. And to make it relevant, they are playing fests later this year. could they play reading oooh you decide.

    • Consider that the sound quality can be better near the front bars right behind the soundbooth rather than closer to the stage, like with mbv. And of course, the front sections are full of talkers too.   The most courteous move would be to have conversations in the very back of the field.
    • I mean...I do think it all needs more regulation, but god knows how when it's all so global...but there's so much stuff on there that is messing with our little minds. But also, he has given these companies till September, and well...he'll surely be gone by then. I think social media ban for under 16s will likely happen, but I think regulating it for everyone is better. It's the not the kids we should be worried about, it's all those middle aged doom scrolling keyboard warriors like me.
    • I agree the prices are tough for locals. You can see if Porto timetable is the type that works for you and it's a terrific city. Also cheaper. https://www.primaverasound.com/es/porto/lineup-porto
    • thanks XXialac! i guess for us the most important aspect will be a festival that starts very late in the day, specially in these southern countries were it can be really hot! The combination of visiting a new city, having good lunches and enjoying a festival is a absolute must for us. Also, we like headliners but the undercard is just as important; truly enjoyed Men I trust, NewDad, Big Thief this year so from that angle it is not really a big thing if a festival is somewhat smaller.    Apparently my bad, i had 5 in my system but 0.5 (10%) increase is still huge. I am not sure how teenagers can afford these prices............
