Sempiternal is such an incredible record. As a BMTH fan it is so great to see the progress they make on every album. Each one is better than the last. I can see big things for this band for sure. I predict they will be 4th top on main below Deftones but would love them to be higher. The way things are going they could be moving up that line up easily.

My guess would be third, they still get a bit of air time on radio stations like XFM every so often and thats with no album released for ages, so if the albums got a few good singles on it i can imagine they'd sit pretty comfortably in third. Plus their still bigger over here than the national.

I reckon they could very easily play 3rd and no eyebrows will be raised at all...On the other hand, i can see Deftones and FOB playing 3rd...and Foals maybe even as well...If not, VW, Bloc Party and Chase and Status even i reckon could play there.

So yeah, i reckon they could play 3rd but i think they are more likely to play 4th (if for nothing else other than the competition).

I think Bloc Party would sub it, cant really seeing them accepting third even with Four not exactly being the most commercially successful album of last year. Also, cant really see chase n status doing it now, but then again i wouldnt be surprised, nor would i would be with a poppier act like example or dizzee. But ye, thinking about it it is quite saturated in the 2nd - 4th positions so bands id expect to play a bit higher could get moved down.

Yeah exactly...Bloc Party 2nd/3rd, VW maybe 3rd, Deftones 3rd/4th, Yeah Yeah Yeahs 3rd/nme, FOB 3rd, Foals 3rd/4th, Editors 3rd/4th..

These are just a few of the bands i think are likely for those positions and of all of them, i think Editors in the UK would be one of the first to be dropped to 4th.

Ye maybe, Foals are getting quite popular recently, plus the added chance of more poppy/ drum n base maybe being included to satisfy the new comers the festival is trying to lure in may mean they move down the line up. Thinking about it, id probably rather editors drop down the line up (as long as the acts above are decent) as i don't think id need it to be late or for them to have a big crowd and atmosphere to enjoy them.

Speaking to NME, Benn said: “We've got two out of the three headliners already secured. The third – we know exactly who we want.
“We haven't made the approach yet, [but] my feeling is they want to do it.”
I know he's full of shit but who were the headliners already booked do we think?
Still think that it's Green Day, some sort of agreement from last year. I missed their secret set due to being at Tesco but when i got to the main stage it was packed full of people watching on the screens.

What do you mean by who were the headliners already booked? Like the 2 he'd secured? Definitely Eminem and probably Biffy seeing as they were the first 2 announced.

And could this mean it's not Sabbath, as they were supposedly already in talks, and would have therefore already approached them?

Not sure how long ago the talks were though, when was this article?

It was just after the festival last year. So surely it was a marketing ploy to announce Eminem and Biffy when he did. I bet he already had all three booked by the first announcement. They've got to leave a huge headliner to sell the tickets on line-up release. Eminem will sell fuck loads of day tickets but not necessarily loads of weekend tickets. I'm guessing he was announced early to bring publicity to attracting a new audience.

    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
    • That Wednesday Razzmatazz slot is one of the best/prime slots!
    • If they fancy chucking something together last knockings, i'm up for it! 😄 Got to get a cat sitter, but i'm 95% there
    • Yes, that's why I think Interpol would be a good fit for the Wednesday so that they don't take up a prime Mordor slot on the other days.
