I suppose you're right, and come to think about it, that was all before the indie revival in early 2000s had taken it's toll anyway so they wouldn't have an indie dominated line-up, so they weren't exactly heavying it up.

It always seems to me that the heavier acts are more popular at Reading, the fact that dentalplan says 'treated' makes me think that Reading should go back to two heavy days. Maybe one heavier than the other. Plus as Sonisphere has pulled out means that there maybe more of a market for heavier stuff.

I just had a look at the line up Eminem had below him when he headlined T in the Park in 2010 to see how they dealt with it, not a single band I would class as heavy played on their main stage. They had the likes of Stereophonics, Vampire Weekend, Newton Faulkner... I know that T and R&L are very different festivals, hopefully we get a different approach.

Dont understand why people are putting forward Dizzee Rascal as a sub? Since he last appeared he has done absolute nothing, no new tracks and certainly not a new album. Just don't know how they could justify him keeping the same spot!
