I don't know why you keep suggesting The xx will play 3rd down on Main. Their live show heavily relies on darkness and all of the festival shows they played in 2012 were at night. I think they're perfect for R1/NME for that reason.

Jack White could sub KOL, wouldn't be that much different from subbing The Killers, then Mumford on a 1st headline set with Bloc Party subbing. It's not that unrealistic.

I don't think Biffy will play at all, maybe not The Prodigy either. This is only based on the Sabbath thing though.

you might be right, just as they performed pretty much everywhere the last they did on main apparantly? NME maybe then, can't see them 2nd on main.

you are right about the dark though, personally i don't like them.

Think Frank Turner will headline NME too

because i clearly mentioned anything about a headliner in my post. congratulations on misreading and misinterpreting my post. i am well aware of what was said in the article as i have read it, and that was not part of what i said so the point is moot.

I agree with the chap (Jump?) who said he can't see them being that desperate to bag Sabbath that they will give them their own 'Ozzfest' day.

I'm hoping Sabbath don't headline. I'd much rather it be something like Biffy, KOL & Blur headlining.

not going off one one, people's posts can be misinterpreted for aggression when you can't read the person or how they were typing it. i pointed out a fact that i didn't mention any headliner speculation in my post, which i didn't.

how you want to interpret my post as to what you just mentioned, thats fine but its not what i meant. i was just pointing out the obvious.

but now you mention it, a headliner probably will be announced around xmas time if they can get the band to agree being announced that early - bear in mind that its been suggested that in the contracts there could be a clause saying they are to be announced in march.

I highly doubt KOL will play. As discussed earlier on R/L don't repeat hedliners that often, and they only played in 2009 and didn't go down well.

They will play T and V imo.

Well if we are getting more stages maybe the main stage could be more daring with the headline acts. I think having black sabbath is a great example of this. I would hope to have more big rock acts on the main stage.
