You have to admire how man utd have managed to get so many wins recently, however they are getting a lot of help from officials favouring the big side. Wigan on the other hand are getting completely screwed by officials.

In other news, I watched the Dortmund - Bayern game tonight, excellent football from both teams, some cracking saves from Neuer, both teams hit the woodwork, but Dortmund deserved the points in the end. Deservedly given but awfully taken penalty from Robben as well, far too comfortable a save.

Wondering if they've got one eye on the Champs Lge semi, but if Dortmund and other German teams keep playing like that, they'll be the dominant force in Europe soon. Someone posted about the Bundesliga having far higher revenue than Prem teams a few pages back, if they've got the money to add to squads that can play like that, I'll be amazed if they don't start challenging Europe more seriously.

I always laugh at the thought that "top managers" are these knowledgeable beings... Most people involved in football at all levels have an IQ to a similar level as a household pet... Harry being a great example.

But he know hes football.

what you mean is that he gets some things right, and that he gets some things wrong - exactly the same as all managers. The proportion of each that any manager does varies, but every manager gets an awful lot wrong, and the only time they get found out as wrong is if they do that thing and fail with it.

There are only opinions, and there's nothing which gets to show that any outsiders - such as any one of us here - might not do the job better than him.

The likes of us never get the chance, tho there's plenty of examples of managers who've never played at the top level, or even played professionally at all, who hugely out-perform some of the very best ex-players in management.

Which all gets to prove that the comments of anyone - people here, or the likes of Xavi, Messi and Pep - are of the same worth. No opinion can be put forwards and claimed as definitively right, and the opinions of players and managers shouldn't be taken as more meaningful or correct than anyone else's.

Comolli sacked by Liverpool! why 48 hours before the biggest game of the season? And why is Daglish saying he chose all the players and Comolli went out and signed them? Surely thats backwards?

Yeah but why now? What should be quiet time going into the biggest match of the season is now going to be full of swarming reporters, distracting questions and media attention etc. Weird weird timing.

Apparently Daglish, Clarke and Comolli all had to submit reports to the owners about where they think things went wrong this season. Either Comolli's report wasn't up to scratch or the two lads burned him.

Sure Kenny didn't burn him anyway from Kenny's statement upon his departure although as Comolli's job was half negotiator... could anyone have done worse on prices?

Is it that simple though? Could it be that we've got a new manager lined up who doesn't want to work with a DoF? Is it that we plan on moving Kenny upstairs? Will Kenny be gone also after Saturday if we lose?

Comolli hasn't done a great job but I'm not sure he's a sacrificial lamb. The whole place might be about to be teared up and start again. Personally I think it might be a sign that Kenny is not going to be here next summer either.

I'm 99.99% certain that Adam was Comolli too, as Liverpool were in for him in the January before Woy was sacked.

I'd be very surprised if Kenny's going too. The league position is poor, but cups don't come for free.

There's an interesting article on the Guardian's website that I read yesterday which suggested that Gerrard could be Liverpool's problem rather than their solution, and the stats tend to back that up. But it's hard to pin everything on Gerrard's return when Lucas got injured at around the same time, so the stats could be more to do with that than Gerrard..... then again, I'd guess that there'll be stats from previous seasons which would show something similar when Gerrard is on the field if it is down to Gerrard disrupting how the rest of the team perform.
