Moyes favourite apparently. I reckon Levy's decided that Spurs aren't going to maintain their level anyway, and would rather not keep spending stupid amounts to maintain top-half.

I don't think Moyes will go for it - why swap a great relationship with a chairman for a poisoned chalice?

Moyes is holding out for the Man Utd job I reckon. After all, he must have had offers from clubs of the size of Spurs before now.

After all, 24 hourts ago he said he wouldn't resign, so it's beyond doubt that he's been sacked.

And all because he fucked up his game of brinkmanship, along with fucking up the 2nd half of Spurs' season.

Love him or hate him he has taken Tottenham to 2 top 4 finishes amd a great Chumps League run. They run the risk of just being another top 8 team or will the new man take them to new heights?

Spurs thought they were losing 'Arry to England, so have been thinking "what next?" for months (as well as already spending the £10M they thought they'd get from the FA).

And then with Spurs bombing in the 2nd half of the season, the "next" will have started to look better without 'Arry.

Add in him being 65 and wanting another 3 years, plus an improved contract, plus how he's tried to manipulate them via the media around a new contract, and you can easily see why Levy will have thought "fuck this, we thought we'd be getting someone else, so let's get someone else".

Still, it makes a change for 'Arry to fuck himself over rather than for him to fuck a club over.

During 'Arry's time they've gone from a club making consistent profits to one that makes consistent losses (despite the extra income they've had from Europa, Chumps, and higher Prem finishes).

my money is on Capello. Spurs will like the idea of getting a top manager without having to pay a transfer or signing-on fee.

I've heard Moyes for Spurs. Personally I'm hoping the go with a foreigner who brings in a load of players who can't adapt to the prem. Either way I hope they keep the fuck away from Tomkins.

that's the strongest rumour, but I'm far from sure there's anything to it.

If Moyes wanted a job at a club of the statue of Spurs I'm pretty sure he could have taken his pick over the years.

I'm pretty sure that he's been told years ago that he's an exceedingly strong possibility for the Utd job when fergie goes, and he's waiting with Everton until that job comes up.

Part (if not all) of the reasoning for why Moyes is being rumoured is because he's supposedly stalling on agreeing a new Everton contract (it only has a year left). But that could just as likely be because he's been given the nod that fergie is gone next summer.

Re- Moyes heading there, as an Everton fan I wouldn't be too disappointed to see him go, it would be sad after how long he's had here, esp as he's won fuck all in that period, whilst doing a hell of a lot to change the club completely from what it was. A change would be a breath of fresh air and perhaps what Everton need, it worries me who would take over though, considering Martinez has rejected all sorts of other offers.

As Neil says though, I'm not sure if he would be all that keen, or indeed would Spurs. He already earns a fortune (he's 12th best paid manager in the world- http://www.futebolfi...de-futebol-2012) so would not move just for the money and if success depends on Spurs finishing 4th, he could well be up against it in achieving that, with a number of clubs now more than capable for challenging for that spot, esp with Spurs looking at a lot of upheaval and potentially no Adebayour, Bale or Modric and a goosed defence.

...And would spurs want to take a risk on a manager who has won exactly nothing in his career, had limited success with big money signings and had fallings out with a number of players, despite never having to deal with many huge egos.

Will be interesting to see what happens, I suspect Spurs will sound out other option before going straight for Moyes though.

I'd say it's massively more likely that a club which is having huge financial struggles as Everton is is massively more likely to end up in the 2nd tier for the first time under a different manager than it is to see any improvement in its league position or with winning trophies.

Joking aside the pressure and expectations at Liverpool are way more than at Everton. Roy and Kenny both found that with the pressure clearly getting to them both towards the end. You keep Everton in the top half of the league and providing you don't play awful football you will probably keep your job.
