I reckon his signings show his quality as a manager. Sanchez has been excellent and wasn't expected to be as good as he is, particularly with not growing up and playing in the Barca way his whole childhood. He's ousted Pedro from the Barca lineup, that's quite a feat. And he seems to get the rotation - consistency balance right across 3 competitions. Bloods youth well (Tello looks a good player).

How much of it is him and whether he'd be able to have similar success with another team is a major question, but I certainly think he's a very good manager. "Great" is a tough one to call though.

Thanks.

But are they his signings? I thought signings there were done by someone above the manager?

Unfortunately the unfair away goal rule forced barca to take gambles they would not normally have had to take. However its their own fault they were 2-0 up with chelsea down to 10 men and couldnt close the game out. Chelsea defended heroically but I hope they dont win the final if they play the same tactic. One advantage for chelsea at least JT wont be there to try and selfishly take the glory for himself like he did last time.

I think its something we will probably never agree on. Its harder to score away from home, at 2-1 chelsea had scored 1 and barcelona hadnt. Its also harder to defend away from home, then at home. At 2-1 Barcas defence had concded 1 goals at staford bridge while chelseas defence had conceded 2 goal at the nou camp. To me both situations even themselves out and a draw is a draw and should be treated as a draw. Thats not my opinion because it has effected a team I enjoy watching, I have always found the rule unfair and always argued the case.

I dont see chelsea winning the final but who knows maybe there name is on the cup. Glad to see bolton beat villa, would love to see Mcleish possibly the most negative manager in premiership history punished with 2 relegations.

Football to me is about attack and defense, in the end of the day chelseas 10 man defense was better then barca attack. Defense is an art form aswel as attack and barcelona didnt have a clue in the last 20 minutes.

Hoping its real madrid and will be torn who to support chelsea or big ron!

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
