AM opened for the Black Keys at 30ish shows this summer in the states, while the role (in terms of popularity) is the other way around in the UK, the black keys might open for AM if both play Glasto??

If the rumours turn out to be true, I would be at another stage. A boring booking of an overrated band. AM that is, I love the black keys, to each his own I guess.

because A: she could be subbing the Arctic Monkeys or B: The Arctics despite being a strong rumor may not headline on Friday and she could. Of course there is every chance you are right and she may not be there at all but nothing is 100% yet.

Do you think she's going to take a sub spot there? If they got her to do it, it'd be huge. But I don't think there is much history of a TITP header subbing at Glastonbury. There is different place slots sub and lower but not headliners.

It would also mean her coming back from a 2nd night touring in Europe to subheadline Glastonbury and then going back to play another two nights in Europe. She's playing 3 nights max at a time through all of her tour and they are all her own headline spots.

So now it's looking quite clear. If you look at the rumours list:

Arctic Monkeys - Strong rumour, very likely

Rolling Stones - Strong rumour, very likely as long as they get their shit together and get paid enough

Radiohead - looking increasingly likely as Atoms for Peace not there, not headlined for 10 years

Fleetwood Mac - Don't know what happened to this rumour, but still think it won't be Stones and Mac. Stones looking more likely

Mumford - If R+L can't have Arctics they'll want Mumford. Also mumford and arctics seems unlikely too

WTT - still possible, but Jay-Z was there 2008

Killers - Out because wembley/ iow/ titp

Kings Of Leon - Emily said no/ too soon

Rihanna - 5 shows in a row not going to happen. Unlikely

Arcade Fire - Nothing to say it will happen. Emily said unlikely

Daft Punk - Again, Emily said unlikely. No activity next year

And that's everyone on the rumours list. We're looking a lot less in the dark than we were a week ago...

..No its not.... It just means Atoms for peace won't be there..

Why not? ...Arctics would be your established modern headliner, Mumford would be the up and coming band, with the Rolling Stones as your heritage act.

Mumfords and Arctics is possible yes but I think because of Reading and Leeds they won't be there. Yes mumford and sons are big, but right now they're far more likely to be at R+L than Glasto. And do you really think they're big enough to headline R+L, Glasto and TITP in one year? And their first year of headlining festivals? That's ridiculous. You can't rule them out of course. But right now Radiohead look more likely. I know that Atoms for Peace doesn't make them that much more likely, but it does mean the argument of being too busy with them doesn't have that much weight behind it any more...

You can't say it's going to happen, but right now that's the most educated guess we can make.

ah i'd totally forgot about the whole Arctics/Mumfords at Reading/Glasto ordeal. not that it's concrete that either band have to do either festival, but it does seem that way. i do hope you're right and Radiohead are there as that'd be incredible, especially to end the weekend with

    • Interesting that'd be the reason - given that there were reports citing that as the reason a few years ago as well.   You'd think that they (meaning both sides) would learn..
    • I gather the later you arrive the further away from the entrance to the festival you are?
    • Hope they skip the fireworks and the burning of the man this year tbh, seemed dodgy last year with all the reports of embers and this year is drier. Don't want to be a killjoy but it's only a big bonfire at the end of the day.    May also need extra care with BBQ and gas stoves etc, always worries me slightly in the campervan field where vans are very very close together!    Not had campervan pass in the mail yet either.   Looking forward to the beer festival and enjoying a few pints while taking in some mellow tunes in the walled garden if the sun carries on shining like this 😎
    • Haha yeah maybe not the best comparison as Gavin seems a good lad. It was to express how he's usually spot-on with his information
    • Ah then yeah one of them has gotta be a very strong chance.
