Setlist from opeing night of new leg of tour..

Even Better Than The Real Thing, I Will Follow, Get On Your Boots, Magnificent, Mysterious Ways, Elevation, Until The End Of The World, Happy Birthday, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Pride (In The Name Of Love), Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of, Beautiful Day / Rain (snippet), Miss Sarajevo, Zooropa, City Of Blinding Lights, Vertigo, I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight / Discothèque (snippet) / Please (snippet), Sunday Bloody Sunday, Scarlet, Walk On / You'll Never Walk Alone (snippet)

encores: One, Amazing Grace (snippet) / , Where The Streets Have No Name, Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me, With Or Without You, Moment of Surrender

So exactly the same as before....(apart from Please snipet) Jesus - don't they get bored...?

.

If I'm honest I'd be really really disappointed by this set if I got this at Glasto...Getting a bit nearer the time for comfort now

Got a bad feeling they will play more Elavation/ Get on your Boots/ Vertigo/ I'll Go Crazy/ Hold me/ party jumpy songs to cater for the morons and they'll miss out on the more depth of Bad/ unforgettable fire/ ultraviolet etc..I think they think this is what we all want - to party woooop, with, to quote CLayton, "on substances"

f**king shame if they do...

Excellent, another comment about the amount of U2 threads. Just what every U2 thread needs. ;)

Here's a tip for you. Read the topic heading before you click on it and then you wont be disappointed by the content.

In comments last year, when they were still 'on' for 2010, they said that setlist-wise, they were going in with the idea being "If you only see U2 once in your life." I don't think it's too hard to guess what sort of stuff they'll play (Greatest Hits - but with an attempt to show range), and a rough idea of what kind of order they'll play it. They'll want to come out swinging with a few big punches up front, then they'll go a bit all over the place in the middle, then a run home of the 'monster' songs. Easy to predict. Different running order to a standard 360 show, where that order is heavily determined by staging/theatrics, but its now hard to take, say, a list of their 30 most well known/most played songs, and then the 20 they play will all come from that. Nothing outside of that.

I want to see at least 1 of the following.

Bad, Ultraviolet or Unforgetable Fire.

These songs belong, for me, to a certain type of U2 that I find incredible. They sound like U2 and U2 only.

I guess I'm not keen on Virtigo, Boots, Elevation and Hold me because they actually could be someone else..

If they play that type of set I'll still love it, just get the nagging feeling this could be a missed opportunity to show a more 'Real' U2, (cliche I know). So many people don't know this side of Bono and I'm not sure we'll get it..

Surely a song about his best mate "taking enough heroin on his 18th birthday to kill him" is better than Elevation..
