Certainly not in any decent slot, his popularity has been on the wane for a number of years now. Not enough people are interested for him to justify a top slot and I can't see him accepting fourth or fifth on the bill.

While his new label (Cooking Vinyl) are a very good indie label they do have a tendency to snap up bands and artists who are in the twilight of their career and without major label push it's unlikely his profile is going to be sufficiently raised enough to generate interest (especially since his 'shocking' image doesn't shock anyone nowadays).

Yeah I thought that, he doesn't have that OMG element anymore and hasn't since the very early 00's imo. Could he play a lower a lot like 5th? But logically I can't see him being booked at all now, he's just, meh... If you get me?

On another note, I really hope Four Year Strong will be playing, I reckon either opening the main stage or playing 8th ish would suit them well.

Papa Roach are releasing "The album of their career" next year so I reckon they could make an appearance? Personally I think they get better with every album and would be awesome if they do. Reckon they would play 5th down or around there, similar slot to Limp Bizkit in '10.

I can see there being a sort of Dave Grohl day. I wouldn't be surprised to see Biffy Clyro, The Gaslight Anthem and EODM playing the same day as the Foos, all bands who have supported them and therefore have some kind of connection.

And yeah it was leaked the morning of the announcement but it still ruined the usual feeling I get at 7PM on announcement day.

Tenacious D & Metallica? The D would probs have appealed to the Metallica fans? And Paramore & Blink probs have a similar fan base. Would be interesting (and awesome) if there was a more hip-hip influenced day Jay-Z & Kanye headlining, Dizzee subbing, Wu-Tang Clan appearing somewhere in the day, and then rock acts filling up the rest of the day so it still appeals to the masses.

Yeah, usually subs and headliners are of a similar style or have a similar sort of fanbase: MCR/30STM, Blink/Paramore, Radiohead/Bloc Party, KOL/Kaisers, RATM/QOTSA, The Killers/Bloc Party, Pumpkins/NIN, etc etc etc.

And then there's acts that are musically different to each other but complement each other well: Muse/Elbow, Strokes/Pulp, GNR/QOTSA, Arcade Fire/Libertines, Arctics/Prodigy, Metallica/Tenacious D, Pearl Jam/Placebo

I found it up the excitement a bit after following these forums in the lead up to 7pm. The is it/isn't it real debate was great fun.

& I agree on there being there being a chance on support for the Foo's day having some sort, even limited, connection to the Foo's. Would definitely help shift day ticket sales.

Was there any connection between subs & headliners from last year, or other years (can't be arsed to look) except perhaps the fan base of 30stM & MCR?
