No I didn't, i just find the fake common accent really grating. (More grating than those super posh people). Stop spaming your shit taste in music everywhere :P

How would you know they are fake? The Brit School is a Croydon Comprehensive, not Eton!

I'm not denying it's a leg up in the industry, but posh it definitely isn't.

....and if Jessie J Youtube links were cropping up in every thread you could complain, but to call it spamming "everywhere" when it is just in one thread entitled "Jessie J" is probably exaggerating a little.

It just sounds fake and very falsed...even if that is how they speak literally all the time and they haven't tried putting it on then ya know it just grates :P

Roxy Pro Live

Surf Angels, easily equivalent to the musicians above IMO. Don't try watching this in the morning, it won't be there any more, it is live (though you can watch the replay heats on demand)

The best female surfers in the world, small conditions but well worth watching

Post only applicable if you are Queensland time or insomniac like me.

  • 5 weeks later...

she is dreadful.

Thankfully there is no doubt whatsover she will "do a Duffy" and rapidly disappear into obscurity. Just like all the rest.

Awful, awful stuff.

I completely agree. This reminded me of a bit of Peter Kay from Friday (saw him at the O2 - can't recommend him highly enough) where he was going through songs where the lyrics sound like something other than they are; "What about that Duffy? Always begging me for birdseed!" Go and listen to it (if you can put yourself through it) and it really does sound like it says that.

I respectfully disagree, I think she has incredible talent, a killer voice and great performance skills as opposed to the more one dimensional Duffy. And a shitload of determination. I think she'll be about for an age.

Would have preferred to see her in a tent in a more intimate setting but at the risk of not getting in I guess this is cool..

Gutted i missed this

I think videos of all the sets (excluding DJs as they don't own the rights to the songs they play I think although I have seen Deadmau5 & Sub Focus's vids from previous years) get put up on the dedicated R1BW site. Highlights stay up for a bit longer

Loads end up on youtube too.

PS

Just watched the end of Chase & Status, the crowd were just standing doing nothing & you could hear them talking over the music! Looking forward to seeing Friendly Fires new music live!

Just watched this on the Red Button, and all my opinions about this unique and special girl are reinforced. An Angel and our new National Treasure. I for one will be down the front for her Glastonbury set looping out big time. Just Loving the Jessie J.

On BBC3 again at 19:00

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
