REM and Palo Nutini

Don't think they would play V under a different name. The festival in Spain is relatively new and they are supporting it. V is too established. I struggle to see how Paulo Nutini would headline the 2nd stage. He has a big slot at Oxegen this year as well. I would of thought he would play under REM.

Cant see REM being anything but a main stage headliner...for them to sub or headline the channel 4 would be mental. Having said that, there do seem to be rumours flying around about them playing everywhere.

Very odd. If its them and Arctics as headliners I'm gonna have to do a serious amount of overtime to make sure get there

efests has heard whispers that REM are considering an offer to headline the 2nd stage.

Simple fact is that they're no longer the draw they once were. The fest wouldn't sell as well as it normally does if they were headliners.

Saw Paulo last year, ok but not headline material, only headlining rockness as it's his "home festival"

Saw REM in Ipswich a few years ago. Good but would not want to see them again.

The other rumours do not interest me, Eminem = good for your average V goer = Chav (Chelmsford standards! no offence to you others) Rhianna = Very annoying. Coldplay = Feck no. Arctics = See Eminem!!

Probably Just a day this year, GET DAFT PUNK!!

bit like kaiser chiefs playign main and faith no more bumping to the second stage, bit like stereophonics headlining and ratm being down the bill. also a bit like killers/bloc party playing main stage and manics playing second stage.

happens at alot of festivals im afraid.

With the exception of RATM who played Finsbury Park in the summer, although you're referring to 2000 when they had kind of dipped in popularity, when was the last time any of those bands played outdoor shows in the UK?

Because the last time R.E.M. did that was in 2008.

Well I can honestly say that if Arctic Monkeys headline one day and REM are confirmed as headliners on either stage the other I will wet my pants and will go to V on my own if I have to!!

Oh and my 2p worth is REM SHOULD be mainstage but can see what people are saying. But if they get them there I don't care where they play as long as I get to see them!!! :D:D

    • Possibly not as there are chair size restrictions in the seated area, for the guidelines see here -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/bring   Have a look into applying for Access and I would recommend contacting them for further advice before buying a ticket - https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/access  They should also be able to answer if you can take a wheelchair into the seated area 🙂
