bekimo
I can see them maybe headline the friday. But not the sunday (im guessing slipknot will be saturday)
nuclearholiday
It's true, they're headlining the Saturday, just got this via email: Biffy
dan666
Did not see that coming. No weekend ticket for me then.
gazza_20
it was going to be interesting to see who would be the 1st fest to give biffy a headlining slot. so slipknot sunday?

tomisnothere
blimey. seems like a dangerous move... any news on the friday? is it set to be a full day or another mini-day? i was nearly sure it would be foo fighters based on the fact soni was moved to the weekend after their MK shows - but it could be for biffy, since they're playing one of those shows too. lauram340
:S that is incredibly odd. Radio 1 have just said that Paramore, Blink 182, MCR are playing festivals. 2 for download, 1 for Sonisphere. Unless Biffy have got it mistaken and they are headlining the friday night (like Alice Cooper) then I could see more day tickets (for Slipknot) being sold than weekend tickets. Its a very strange one to have as a headline act!
tomisnothere
just realised - biffy may be headlining the smaller of the 2 main stages. would make more sense!
ampersand
i think it's fair enough if they are headlining main stage. 2 big mainstream albums, the current one with 7 singles. lots of well known tunes and will go down pretty well i reckon! 5co77ie
Unless the mailer is a fake - I wouldn't have thought they would have said headlining if they aren't.
she bangs the drums
Biffy will be headlining the 2nd stage. I've watched this band 15 times since 2006 and saw them on Friday in front of 11,000 people at Manchester Central and said to my friends that I can only see this band getting much bigger, they ae destined to headline festivals as they raight catchy songs, they got one of the biggest crowds of the weekend at Reading and Leeds last year. They are certainly big enough to headline Sonisphere's 2nd stage.

she bangs the drums
Loads of people will go mad about this but Biffy are much more popular than bands like Faith no More/Manowar that people were talking about as headliners. Its a gamble from the organisers but I remember people saying Kings of Leon weren't big enough to headline Glastonbury before becoming one of most popular bands on the planet. I saw lots of people at the Biffy gig on Friday that i never thought I would see at a Biffy gig. Whatever people may think about them musically, Biffy will sell tickets. Dan R
Tbh they've actually tempted me a bit more to sonisphere It's refreshing as much as anything when festivals give bands a big break and I think Biffy can pull off something great

spwan-of-the-devil
I could see this back firing in a big big way, Hope the undercard is decent..
teeman89
damn was really hoping for Foo Fighters but it seems they are headlining T in the park over the same weekend so prob unlikely. Think Biffy will be good but a big let down as Saturday headliner. They should def try and book Foo Fighters, Rise Against, Chevelle, Flyleaf, In Fear And Faith, Three Days Grace, Underoath, Jimmy Gnecco, Slash and Tenacious D

j...rox
I'm delighted for them, bit more stage set up and they will do the business. Big round of applause to Sonisphere for pushing them up to the big time after many many years of graft.

adustlandfairytale
The stage set up they've had at their arena shows have been VERY impressive, so yeah could headline choice and a brave one as well.
