Having read the original post, I got to thinking that perhaps GF should set up a special Geordie stage, to ameliorate nufc's (inevitable) disappointment when the 2011 headliners include a band that doesn't float his boat so to speak.

However, I've come to the conclusion that an all Sheffield line-up would be more feasible, but only if Pulp are one of the headliners.

A reasonable running order would be something like:

Pulp

Arctic Monkeys

Def Leppard

Heaven 17

Paul Carrack

Tony Christie

Moloko

Reverend & the Makers

Little Man Tate

(Omissions include Joe Cocker, Human League , ABC, and Carabet Voltaire)

The Pixies

Smiths

Arcade Fire

Radiohead

Pulp

Foo Fighters

LIBERTINES

Metallica

these would suit me.

If these U2/Take That/ Coldplay rumours to be true then I will be elsewhere enjoying something else.

Foos are an English exclusive.

I'm not sure you can believe Giddings when he's said that - he also said at the same time that Kasabian were a UK exclusive, yet they're playing Rockness. And a few years ago, the press release IoW put out about Neil Young strongly implied he was an exclusive to IoW, yet he played Glasto & (I forget which) Wireless or Hard Rock Calling.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
