Yep- lets hope there's a tour- certainly sounds promising- shame they ain't doing Glasto though

Seen them 3 times over the years- last time in 2008 in Stockholm and always been good- one of my favourite bands

From Robert Smith on the Cure's official site:

THE CURE (ONLY EUROPEAN SHOW 2011)

"creeeeeak... AS OF DECEMBER 3RD 2010, THIS IS THE ONLY CURE PERFORMANCE OF ANY DESCRIPTION BOOKED FOR 2011... WE WILL NOT BE PLAYING ANY OTHER EUROPEAN FESTIVALS, AND UNLESS SOMETHING REMARKABLE HAPPENS, WE WILL NOT BE PLAYING ANY OTHER EUROPEAN SHOWS! THIS IS AS CLEAR AND AS DEFINITE AS WE CAN BE... SO IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE 120+ MINUTES OF THE CURE NEXT YEAR (AS WELL AS A DAZZLING PANOPLY OF OTHER GREAT ACTS) WE WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU GO TO BESTIVAL! (HOWEVER, IF YOU LIVE IN SOUTH AMERICA, YOU MIGHT CONSIDER WAITING A WHILE BEFORE BOOKING YOUR TICKET... YOU NEVER KNOW... ) ONWARDS! RSX"

dont miss it, you'll regret it. bestival is a wonderful festival and will provide an amazing backdrop for the cure's performance.

judging by the ticket number i got when i bought mine the other day on the payment plan, plus the number of full tickets sold (you can look on the ticketline website) i'd say they have sold around 20k out of 50k tickets.

so still over half left but one more announcement will make that go down quickly. it will sell out after the next announcement which is supposed to be in january, feb at the very latest.

Same for me, Leeds Fest since 13 and always been a good boy but unfortunately a lot aren't. I'm sure you could work something out though? Find some people on here to go in with? I'll be 21 and I'd happily sort something out nearer the time if you need it!

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
