Keith Richards was interviewed on BBC 6 Music and the 'Stones will tour in 2011'

so you never know - will it be 2011 or 2013 ? - lucky enough I have seen them live on many occasions including when Brian Jones was in the band but it would be handy if they made it to Glasto as there has to come a point when they jack in live shows completely.

One thing is certain - if they do play I will fix my shift as there is no way I will be behind a bar if the Stones play.

Not nope - that means it's not official, and we know it isn't, we already know the band won't announce anything until after their meeting in mid-December, and that nothing has been confirmed yet (or at all)

But it seems most of them are up for it. Radio 6 appear to be talking to a different Stone each week - maybe they'll have Jagger say he's up for it next week, or Charley the week after.

Edited to add: It sounds to me like The Guardian went hunting for confirmation - and not surprisingly got told there wasn't any.

Floyd or The Stones now that would be a dilemma. Luckily if both should play it they will both be Pyramid no at least no clash issues.

Having seen both from their infancy to old age if forced to choose I think I'd opt for Floyd - as someone said earlier The Stones are almost a parody these days wheras should Floyd play they will be taking it seriously.

Same, although I just can't see a stadium being a venue for a reunion. To be honest the best place for them to reunite would be Glastonbury as it is a charity based festival and all three members have expressed a desire to play there in the past.

and now we shift from the stones to floyd!

Last week in an interview with a German magazine Keith said that the stones will start touring in June 2010.

If that was the case I would've expected an official announcement by now so I wouldn't read too much into it. It's pretty clear that Keith isn't going to be the one making the decision

I've noticed a lot of Stones music being played on adverts on TV recently, I'm sure it was Neil who said before that when this happens it's usually a good indication that a group are planning on touring soon?

I'd say that you're off the mark with saying you'd have expected an announcement by now if they start touring in June, for a number of reasons.

One of those reasons is that, while the tour dates are all pencilled in, the band meeting where the band agree (or not) to do the tour that's been arranged isn't until December.

And while the decision isn't just Keith's to make, the fact that he's been stating with confidence that they'll be touring indicates to me that he's of the belief that the others will be wanting to do it too - so it's looking exceedingly likely, I reckon.

And with a set of dates pencilled in to start in June - the same as existed a year ago (but which the band decided not to do in the end) - when it's more normal for their tours to start at the end of the summer, it's making a VERY big suggestion to me that the same is on the cards as was on the cards a year ago.

Bingo! :D
