The fact that they're in with a shout of 4th is amazing enough, given where they were just a few months ago. The effect that Kenny's had has completely changed my view of managers ... I reckon there might be a few gob-smacked people when they see what I'll post in the next couple of weeks. .

With everything he's achieved in his epic career it says everything you need to know about Baconface that he takes his greatest delight in "outdoing" LFC. From one point of view his whole career has now been defined by his relationship with Liverpool. Fingers crossed Manc's get their new anthem to number one on Sunday just to sprinkle that extra bit of class on the whole thing.

Ampersand did, I'm pretty sure - based on his non-success with Celtic I think. Probably others too.

But plenty of people get plenty wrong about footie all the time. For example, if we go back nearly a year, myself and others thought that Gerrard / Cole / Torres would be a superb attacking force ... and Liverpool too, which is why they signed Cole on silly wages.

But even King Kenny can't polish a turd like Cole.

nah, it's nowt to do with Liverpool.

But as you've raised that .... according to what was said on TV this morning (can't remember if it was Sky or BBC, and I've not checked it myself), while Utd are thought to have had a strong run-in, Liverpool under Kenny have outpointed Utd since Kenny started the job. Only Chelsea have bettered Liverpool.

I agree that the whole "what to do with Gerrard" thing is difficult for Liverpool, and that selling him wouldn't be a bad move as they'd still get a decent wedge for him.

But I can't really see it happening unless he wants out himself. In general Liverpool have a stronger loyalty than most other clubs to long serving players (tho there's always exceptions), and that's likely to be even stronger for someone who's from Liverpool, spent their whole career with that club, and who single-handedly won them the Chumps League.

As for single handedly winning the CL... Rafa, Didi, Dudek and Garcia might warrant a bit of that credit

Liverpool fans now follow the SECOND most successful team in England. And thats only the start of it. Uts are going nowhere anytime soon, not with that squad. Best centre back in the world, best young striker in the world, best left back in the world and Rooney firing again.

Yeah me too. Never thought Suarez would be there at that stage though, or Kenny! Great turnaround from him. Still a load of work to be done to get back in the top four though.

Agree with that, in my opinion gerrards perfomrance against milan was one of the most overrated ever, although wilshire at home to barcelona this season is another contender. I personally think liverpools comeback against milan was a fairytale and gerrard fitted in with the media looking for its hero. However I felt it was more of a team effort. I would maintain if any other liverpool player had put in the same performance gerrard did that day they would have got half the credit.

If you had beat it whilst we were under the ownership of Hicks, under the management of Roy and with players wanting to leave... I'd probably have been fuming. But instead we've got a bright future, and in fact it us who have the best young striker in the world in Suarez . I don't think the United dominance will be as much of a foregone conclusion as your post makes out. You are going to lose a lot of players to old age in the next few years and have an absolutely crippling debt to handle. If that catches up with you (which it will if new owners aren't in place) in context with the spending powers of Chelsea and Man City, the league will be very open in the next decade.

Sick? Most I've spoke to seem to be surprised how it hasn't hurt as much as we thought. Maybe we're lucky that just as you've overhauled us (deservedly so) we have managed to finally get ourselves in order. There's very little that's going to make us feel down at the moment. We care more about our own club than anyone else. Anyway your only more successful in league titles, it will take you at least one more year to get level in the European Cup stakes (for the record, I think you'll win this year).

Oh don't get me wrong, Gerrard was brilliant second half and ET but that cup run had many more heroes than him. We wouldn't have even got through the group stages if it wasn't for current Shef Wed striker Neil Mellor!

They're the better team but in a one off I can see you winning, even Arsenal did for god's sake!

Gerrard played great in the second half as did dudek and hamman. My point is that the performance got exaggearted because of who he was. In some countries the media gave dudek man of the match. Some people discuss it as one of the best champions league individual performaces ever. In my opinion that is wrong as there are players who have perfomed in finals from start to finish.

I hope you're right. Anythings possible on a one off I suppose yeah. I guess Utd just have to attack Barca, play on the front foot. All 11 Utd players have to have the game of their life though.
