I'm not sure, despite not being as good as they can be they did manage to beat Lyon at long last and it was something like they won 1 out 7 games the last few times they played. They could be coming together at the right time.

yeah they're still obviously a good team. with that attacking power, you should never underestimate them.

i just don't think spurs should fear them and they're definitely beatable over 2 legs. i'm guessing higuian will still be out?

I reckon it was around six or eight - probably about an even split between being badly offside, very marginally offside, and the linesman calling it wrong.

Kuyt was also offside quite a bit last night, and that's not something he normally does - tho he doesn't normally (or hasn't, anyway) play as far forward as he did last night.

I think it would probably be unfair to blame all of that on bad play from those Liverpool players, and not credit some of it to good defensive play by Braga. They got their tactics spot on for a 2-legged tie - they had few attacks in both matches, and instead set themselves up to frustrate a team that would attack them. Given the chances Liverpool had last night I'd say they were a little on the lucky side to get away with doing that, but they did and all credit to them.

As for the champions league, very exciting draw, we have a chance but we have to make sure we dont get thumped in the Bernabeu and still be in the tie coming back to the lane, who knows what can happen then!

Yep, I agree with you to an extent, and posted as much at the point that Liverpool signed him.

But having watched the one and a bit games he's played for Liverpool I'd say he has a fair bit more going for him than Big Dunc, he's less one-dimensional in what he's able to do effectively, and more mobile.

But he's well short of being a £35m player, and always will be.

Uefa will be happy with the draw with the big guns generally seperated. Im glad for an english draw as to me an all english final does not feel as special, also a man u v chelsea final would likely be very dull. Think the media is making a mistake assuming the winners will get to the final. Inter on their day can give both english clubs a game.

Well you must be looking forward to a trip to Madrid for your boys Tugger. Will certainly be a harder pair of games than against AC, but still a chance. Whether you can keep Ronaldo quiet will be the big test.

Massive game for us tomorrow against West Brom, an absolute must win. They desperately need the points too though, so think it'll be pretty tight. We really need a boost before the international break, and fingers crossed that by the next time we play we'll have Walcott and Fabregas back.

I can only assume you're comparing Carroll's mobility with Dunc's in his second spell at Everton. When DF was at Dundee Utd, Rangers, and even Everton in his first spell he was at least as mobile at Carroll if not more.

that's possibly the case - I can't say I've got any memories of him from his earlier days, which I'm guessing coincided with a period where I took much less interest in football.

of course, whats really interesting about the chavski vs manure game is how each boss will cope without their best players, its going to take a serious re-jigging of both squads in order to cope, but of course, manure face the bigger challenge

ancelotti only has to try and find a replacement for martin atkinson, whereas of course, none of howard, mark or mike will be available to bacon face!!

really, REALLY looking forward to it. and call me crazy, but i think we have a serious chance to turn them over - they have to be favourites, but this is not a team we'll fear at all

The only thing that might have topped that would be winning it, but surely Spurs fans have a greater sense of realism than the likes of Gadaffi.?
