Though not with Suarez.

Another of the many bad decisions was not booking Suarez for diving. Had he been booked as he should have then he'd have gone moments later with the second yellow for being an argumentative twat. Alternatively, he could pendantically send Mensah off for putting his arm across Suarez, which caused him to dive like a big girl.

One of your players could have been booked for diving too though 2nd half (can't remember who). Both would have been very petty bookings. Plus your theory doesn't work. The 2nd yellow probably doesn't happen if the 1st does so rubbish argument. Mensah was a fool for putting his arm across him, even if it isn't a straight red it is certainly a booking, not pedantic at all.

However understand why you are going down that route- Mensah and Suarez were the difference in the end today.

As for 5th, I reckon that more comes down to what Spurs do than Liverpool. Spurs would have to have a bit of a slump really, but I don't think that's impossible as 'Arry is defo more interested in the Chumps than he is the Prem.

For just the league, he has a ppg of 2, which is equal to Arsene's and only bettered by Fergie.

Dalglish has 20 pts from 10 games, so 2/3 or extrapolated would be 60 pts from 30 games.

Fergie with Utd's got 63 from 30 (2.1/3), but he's equal to Wenger with 58/29 (2/3).

He's done extremely well with quite possibly the worst squad Liverpool have ever had in the Premiership.

and still limited Sunderland yesterday to just one shot on goal in the 88th minute.

To anyone that's been paying attention tho it's no surprise. Sunderland just aren't that good, tho not helped by ending the season with poorer strikers than they started with. But for a team whose most expensive player cost just £13M and none of the others being better than that it's no great surprise.

But Dalglish's doings have changed my mind about managers - I no longer think that resources play as big a part in a team's success as I'd previously thought (tho I'm not thinking they're an irrelevance either).
