Funky; What's your thoughts on the Wilkins thing and Emenalo's appointment? No coaching badges, not going to be involved in coaching? not ancelotti's man. You'd think with a vacancy free, you'd ask your current manager if had any personal recommendations, if there was anyone he wanted who he'd worked with before, though guess the modern model is against Manager having whole say in a football club nowadays. Boards seem to like the roles to be more split nowadays; emergence - especially in mainland Europe - of director's of football & sporting directors, involved in transfer policy as an example. Seems strange appointment though. Meant to be friendly with Abramovich, so is it a case of him wanting an insider like Grant was supposedly in Mourinho's reign?

Wilkins seeking legal advice for unfair dismissal, would arguably imply he hasn't done a Graham Rix or other misdemeanour behind the scenes, where board room action would be more justified.

Why destabilise a club 3 months into the season by sacking him? Why not just say "we're not renewing your contract at the end of the year, please remain professional and fulfil the remainder".

be interested to hear about neils thoughts on arsenal 'digging in deep' after yesterday.

well, they obviously didn't, but all the same I'm not sure I've ever seen such a one sided match. While Spurs were certainly better in the 2nd half than the first, they defo weren't 3 goals better, in fact they weren't better at all - they only matched Arsenal. Of course it's goals that count, but Spurs got very very lucky!

and the whole 'fair play' stuff he goes on about when arsenal capitalized when alan hutton was injured and struggling ;)

It needs pointing out here that Spurs kept on playing when he was down to attack Arsenal. If it's good enough for them, then Arsenal did nothing wrong by doing the same.

firstly, two wrongs don't make a right.

secondly, spurs weren't gaining an unfair advantage over arsenal by playing 10 against 11 so a comparison isn't worth pointing out regarding 'fair play'.

It's not about "10 against 11", it's about a person being injured and in need of attention.

If his own team-mates don't believe the game needs to stop for him to have some attention, then it's unrealistic to believe that those who aren't his team-mates should have greater concern for his welfare.

"Fair play" is not about working a situation to your own advantage and against the opposition. Your whole premise to this is wrong. ;)
