oh, it's just for Utd players. He's the man who claims David Platt as a success of the Utd youth set-up, despite the Utd youth set-up kicking out that future England captain as not good enough to make the grade in professional football at all.

United need a point from remaining two.

Against Rangers, would put United on 11, with Rangers maximum possible of 9.

If lose, then a draw against Valencia (at Old Trafford), would put United and Valencia on 11 (assuming Valencia beat bursaspor), but United would go through on the better head to head.

edit: For United to go out, Rangers have to win both. If United lose both, Valencia can almost definitely lose to Bursaspor and still go through ahead of us. We only won 1-0 on the head-to-head, so a 2-0 would do it in their favour on head to head. A 1-0 would aswell, as would then go to goal difference which they're ahead 6 to 5 currently. We'd be less than +5 following two defeats so would depend on if their defeat to Bursaspor was greater than ours against themselves and Rangers. Best case Utd lost both games 1-0, we'd still need Bursaspor to beat Valencia by 5 goals.

Shocking. yes it was a penalty but we just didn't create enough. Didn't reorganise when Eboue went off (and it looked a bad injury) and that cost us. Just not good enough at the mo. Woefully inconsistent

Rossi wanted first team football but was behind Rooney and Saha in the pecking order. Solskjaer had come back from the knee surgery the previous season, and we were signing Tevez that summer aswell.* Wasn't ready at the time to be regular first choice ahead of those four.

As it was, Solskjaer relapsed and retired a month or so into the season, and Saha got injured again, so Rossi most probably would've got opportunities if decided to wait it out. Can't blame him though given four players ahead of him at the time, and worked out pretty well for both parties. He's fully justified the £6.6m Villareal spent, but it's a more than decent fee for us too for what was a fringe player at the time.

Not the biggest or strongest, but very good technically and finishing. Would have been interesting to see how he'd play in prem football. Shame Roeder didn't give him a chance with the Newcastle loan to see how he'd make the transition from reserve level to regular prem. Was a complete waste of time.

*Tevez was finalised shortly after the Rossi sale, but had the whole referral to Fifa on Tevez's ownership prior. It was likely to be going through.
