i think all you have to look at is how sweden do in the next decade without larsson. with him from 94-06, they were a very good nation. you'd think with zlatan as the main man, they'd be going from strength to strength.

i appreciate that larsson played in a lesser league at his peak, but there's no denying he's one of the greatest players to play the game in recent years. just google what other people say about him like ronaldinho and eto'o.

larsson made an impression at man utd. so much so that the best club in the world decided to buy him. and then he came off the bench in the champions league final, turned the game on its head and played a major part in both goals to win the cup. almost single handledly won the uefa cup for celtic against possibly the greatest manager of our generation.

that's all i need to know.

1. The international comparison is only valid if your assumption is that the players along side them were of relatively equal quality. I would personally dispute that. I would say the current swedish side is relatively weak.

2. You say theres no denying but I would dispute that. I personally cant say he was or wasnt one of the greatest players of recent years because I dont have the evidence of him playing top level club football at his peak to compare with his contemparies. One of the best players to play for celtic, sweden or in scotland undoubtedly. However I dont know how I can compare him with the likes of drogba, del piero, raul etc because they have never played in the SPL to make the comparison. If I was to list the top 10 strikers of the last 10 years, he wouldnt make my shortlist personally.

3. Im not surprised those players praise him, he is obviuously a nice bloke. However while people may say that ibra doesnt have a great record in masssive champions league games or against top domesitc sides, does larsson?? The fact he chose to stay at celtic clearly limitted his oppurtunities to play in the types of games which you judge ibra.

Of the above, quite a few of the clubs I have visited previously but have since changed grounds - most annoying of all was Morecambe. There are also plenty of clubs I have visited that were at the time league clubs but have since been relegated.

I have trips planned to go to Blackpool and Exeter this season. Will probably do at least one more too.

Exeter makes the Rec look good.

Tho according to the landlord of my local The Rec is "one of the prettiest grounds in the country". I reckon he's on drugs.

They are saying that spain and portugal are now favourites for the 2018 world cup. Im normally against joint hosts but in this case both would probably qualify anyway. I hope it goes to england as I would love to see some top level international football live. However I think it would benefit the england national team not getting it. It is undoubtedly a huge advantage hosting a world cup but I think england current crop of players in the 18-24 age range doesnt have sufficient talent to take advantage.

Great bit of business for us. Someone with his kind of quality should be good for a few points over the next few months to really get us in the mixer at the top of the Championship. Tudgay as well from Sheff Wednesday. Maybe our 'transfer committee' isn't such a bad thing after all

Meanwhile, I wonder how much of tomorrow's footie is going to be lost to snow & frozen pitches? Aldershot are away at Dover tomorrow in the FA Cup 2nd round, with snow forecast for Dover from around 1pm tomorrow. Can't see that going ahead.

Is Ramsey actually fit? Or are we giving him match fitness?

he's played just one reserves game for Arsenal since he's got over his leg-break I think, so mostly you'd be giving him match fitness I guess - but I very much doubt that Arsenal would have sent him out on loan if he was fit.

But I'd guess that it's still a very good loan signing for Forest, as I'd guess that at the level of fitness he's at right now he'd not be out of place in that team, and once he's clocked up another game or two he'll easily be your best player.

It's only (relatively) recently that I've started going to neutral matches. Prior to that I was only adding grounds as WHU played them. Which enabled me to do the vast majority of Divisions 1 & 2, but not many in Divisions 3 & 4 other than when drawn away in the Cup. Which is why there are some lower division clubs fairly local to me that I haven't done.

Still irks me that nearly 25% of the remainder I've done before. Particularly as I'm fairly certain once I go to their new grounds I will prefer their old one. Though perhaps in 50 years time I may change my mind.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think it's looks great. Glinting in the sunshine when you come over the top of the hill, great.
