PRECISELY!!!!!

Far from it being a 'poor mis-match' - surely thats what makes this festival so good???!

It's one attitude I really can't understand - "I want to watch x but I don't want to have to sit through y before they come on." GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THEN!!!!

Worksafe?

I'm guessing not.

Re the billing, yes it's eclectic which is a good thing but I do think that there is some truth in putting Scissor Sisters up against the most likely slot when the England game is on, stereotyping aside. If it was a more mainstream indie landfill act or a bigger more popular band v. England there'd be shitloads of complaints. As it is the overlap of "England World Cup" game against "Scissor Sisters" on a Venn diagram is about as low as you're likely to get for an act on the Pyramid at that stage in the evening.

There are some hilarious 'neighbours' in this years lineup.....

Willie Nelson followed by Snoop Dog

Dizzie Rascal followed by U2

Norah Jones followed by Slash (my personal favourite)

Coheed and Cambria followed by Imogen Heap

The beauty of Glastonbury!

I think it is awesome!! I love that about Glasto that it's not a line-up that you caould read straight out of the 'hot and not' seciton in any music snobbery mag! Yeah I am not the biggest fan of Scissor Sisters, but as I will be beyond the point of caring due to massive oner-excitement and cider indulgence due to Muse being on after them!! I'll be there for a good for a dance about and a laugh!

And to be honest can't say that they are any odder a "fit" to Muse and Amy Winohouse was with Jay-Z in 2008?

Wouldn't it have been great though if your girlfriend actually was called Dorothy? It is a very outdated reference too as all my gay friends think it's shit and mock me for liking both The Wizard of Oz and the BBC show Over The Rainbow. I'm metrosexual.

I was called "Briefcase w*nker" in a student nightclub last week because I was wearing a shirt and tie (I'd gone straight there from actually having a job). He bottled it when I represented.

I could imagine a girlfriend called Dorothy would be a very stern woman though and not that pretty - so you're probably better off being without the comeback.

I think it'll be a fun sing and dance along before Muse. I would have stayed for the band before Muse anyway because I wouldn't want the panic of maybe missing some, & I'm glad it's Scissor Sisters as I'm interested to see what they're like but would never pay to see them on their own

:P

they're both acts i have no interest in whatsoever, so from my perspective, their placings on the line up couldn't be better.

also, i didn't actually believe people would stand through an act they don't like, just to get a good spot for those that follow. that seems bizarre to me, but then my days of enjoying being down the front are long gone! i like a bit of space to dance and drink. maybe it's an age thing?

Scissor Sisters will be one of the bands of the weekend for me. They were in fact one of the biggest acts in the UK bout 3 years back... so considering they have a new album out i'd say it warrants a high slot.. no? Plus i've seen Muse live, they were ok, but it's all gotten a bit to far up their own arses now... Definatly feel Scissor Sisters will put on a better show. Unsure of what headliner i'll see that day but i will 100% be at Scissor Sisters :P Brilliant act.

Edit: also it's not a wird placing for them to be before Muse at all.... It's Glasto. This is my first time going but everyone knows that IS Glasto. It's not a rock festival where everything blends in perfectly, it's a mishmash of every genre and it's up to you to seek out what you want to see. It's why it's such a damn goo dfestival

First homophobia, then sexism and now dorothyism. The levels of intolerance in this thread are reaching a new low.

And don't come back to me with "one of my best friends is called dorothy"

You tell me to grow up yet you throw another one of your homophobic insults at me?

For the record I'm not going to see Muse OR Scissor Sisters but I just find that people insulting other people just because of their music tastes really immature. Get a grip.
