I cannot see why people have such a problem with V !

It is not Glasto , but then Worthy Farm is a bit quiet 4th week in August

If its Faithless and Kasabian I think I am going !

For fear of being shouted down V is certainly not Glastonbury, never will be and doesn;t aim to be !

It's a big concert with popular bands

Yes I'm going this year, Obviosuly if I had to choose G would win hands down, but V is an excuse to go to a 'middle of the road' festival with lots of friends who would not go to G, meet loads of friends from 'home' and generally have a good time

I'm hoping Faithless play, just so I don;t have to worry about potential clashes at G

V fest will go ahead this year as usual and as usual it will create even MORE people who realise it is really shit and therefore they will swear never to return and give Glasto a try instead.

Admittedly this has been happening for a few years now but the momentum it is gathering is very noticeable...especially when you walk around Glasto these days.

I do tire on these boards of people putting down other festivals on principle.

At the end of the day they all serve the same function and each has their own approach. Yes, Glasto is special and unique but that doesnt make the approaches of the more commercialised ventures wrong. So far as putting down the line-ups 60% of them will be at Glasto anyway and the naysayers are probably just jealous.

I have been to Reading and wouldnt mind TITP or V but Glasto takes priority - all down to money constraints and line-ups there after. Would people please get over themselves and stop bitching about every little thing. If you don't like it don't go - simple as!

(I understand most posts on here are not anti but this is a reaction to the earlier TITP thread aswell where there were several people talking out of their behinds)

Been to V twice but wouldn't go again.

Saw some good acts and had some fun, the atmosphere in the tents is particularly good but unless they have changed in the last 4 years the organisation is just so bad that personaly I wouldn;t go again. Not putting down V on principle but my considered opinion.

They just want your money and are happy to show it, in my opinion this rubs off on us punters and the whole atmos is much much more agressive than other festivals that I have been to.

That's exactly what I did in 2004. I got right up the front.... and no one around me had any clue who Pixies were (they played after N*E*R*D, so I guess that's why). :P Still a great show though

On the plus side, I enjoyed N*E*R*D much more than I thought I would, and chatted with a N*E*R*D fan who enjoyed Pixies much more than he expected, so can't complain about the crowd too much :P

      I guess we'll just have to wait until videos of the shows go up, but the fact that the standing is also greyed out still suggests to me that those sections just sold out out before the others and a blue block just be like 3 tickets left, it's still not concrete proof they never went on sale and if they were never on sale why would they not make it even, if 414 wasn't on sale then you'd think 409 wouldn't be either

      I don’t think the festival automatically ‘need’ to have a female headliner if you have strong female headliners on the Other Stage (which I reckon will be Rosalia and Phoebe Bridgers), perhaps a female legend (praying for Annie, will take Cher), and a few female/mix gendered subs on the Pyramid (maybe London Grammar, The xx). From what I’ve seen of Sabrina, her team prioritises the pay day and I think she will be doing Wembley over Glasto weekend.   One thing I’ve noticed is a lot of the suggestions would be first time headliners and I can’t work out when the last time was that the festival had three artists top the bill that hadn’t topped it before? It seems to be something they like to do to make sure they have a ‘safe’ headliner that will land well with the masses. Plenty of names in that hat that could step back up next summer and should/could be about: Billie Eilish, Adele, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Radiohead, U2…hell, if Beyoncé is really planning to release a ‘rock n roll’ album to complete her Renaissance trilogy, Glastonbury would be a great place to ‘kick off’ that campaign for her.   And there’s always the Rihanna rumour. Her husband (I think) said this week she’s in the studio.
