Best and most memorable for me was Blur. I started weeping as them came on stage as I realised how important they had been in my life and how lucky I was to be there. The fact they followed up that epiphany with one of the greatest sets I've ever seen just made it as good as an egg custard on a hangover morning.

I was going to go see Ray Davies but I went and saw Bloc Party instead as couldn't face the treck from JP tent to Acoustic Stage. Huge Huge mistake.

Mine was Florence & the Machine, even though she had not even released an album when she played you oould tell she was going to be massive when you saw that set

Not the most memorable of years for bands. 2008 was way better.

I still can't decide between Neil Young and Blur

Neil Young is my all time favourite artist and to see him on such amazing form was truly magical, I was just watching his performance last night on Sky+ and it still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. But then I grew up with Blur and first got into music as a young 'un just before the whole Oasis/Blur bollocks kicked off and right from the minute they walked on stage you knew it was going to be something truly special.

A real tough one that I've thought about a lot since June.

Idlewild - Dingwalls

Played all 6 of their albums (+half of Captain EP, a bside & Queen of the Troubled Teens) over 3 days. Made friends with other queuers on the first day and we hung out for all 3. Was definitely one of the best gig experiences I've ever had, by the end staff were recognising fans and being really chatty, the atmosphere was amazing, the band were in great spirits and played lots of requests (including 2 of mine). Plus I got poster #1 and got it signed. Pretty much perfect
