I'm not aware of Eavis saying Saturday is a bigger act.

There's been presumptions from lots of people (including me) that it might be, as Saturday normally has a bigger act than Friday.

But having sat back and thought about it some more, I'm pretty sure that if there's a bigger act for the Saturday than U2, it can't be band and must be a solo artist - after all, Eavis announced U2 as (something like) "the biggest band in the world", which very much implies that there's no bigger band for Saturday.

It's possible I guess that I'm reading too much into that, but I think Eavis has been at it long enough to not risk pissing off a band of similar or bigger status by using a line like that without considering that it might cause some issues.

Going back to the British headliners point, Ireland is in the British Isles isn't it? Maybe that's what Eavis meant? Even if it's not part of the UK etc.

As for Muse, quite excited about this - imagine they didn't headline and were playing under Zeppelin or something crazy like that with an artist like Stevie Wonder headlining the Sunday or Saturday :P (I can dream)

Really? You think that??!!! Ireland certainly IS NOT in the UK, or the British Isles coming to that... or in anyway part of GB/UK.

NORTHERN Ireland however is part of the UK but not GB... it was added separately in 1922.

Geography lesson over. x

    • Yeah, that was always a possibility.   We're obviously obsessed with Glastonbury and so assumptions are made when something like that is said. It's unlikely Madonna feels quite as strongly about the festival and so her being excited about something big in the UK next year (or however she phrased it) should really be taken as carrying a lot more possibilities.
    • MGK to headline anyone?
    • Fantastic news.  Not got our settlement car park pass yet, but this gives me hope that it will arrive soon
    • I think they mentioned it in one and interview that the concept of Passport is one thing that differentiates the Sziget from other festival and encourages to explore the site outside music stuff. I doubt they will get rid of it, they might just be late, like they are with everything else.
