got to disagree mate! went to m.e.n lastnight and was blown away by a 3 hour set of excellent well performed music, the fact that they dont take themselves too seriously is a good thing, reckon they would blow the roof off the pyramid stage!

yes yes and yes! saw them last monday in sheffield and loved them so much that i had to go and see them again in manchester on friday. i can hear the pyramid stage calling......weeeeeeyooooh, i said weeeeeeyoooooh!!!!

people who loved them pre-1995 don't love them any more but still enjoy the early albums.

i've got to say i'm in the 3rd category - i saw them on J Ross and thought they were awful, just going through the moves. and they seemed to have a backing singer (as in, not playing an instrument too, just singing backup) - punk bands don't have backing singers.

Sore them last night in Manchester. Best gig i have ever seen. Not only do they play good music, (and all the popular crowd pleasers) but they also put on a really good show. Alot of interaction with the crowd and at no point in the 3 hours did they become boring. Perfect pyramid headliner i think.

They're playing in Paris on the Saturday of Glasto weekend, so I reckon that just about rules them out completely.

The trio will perform Manchester Lancashire County Cricket Ground on Wednesday, June 16 and Wembley Stadium on Saturday, June 19. They have also lined up a show at Parc Des Princes in Paris seven days later.

Tickets for the concerts go on sale at 9am on November 6.

Green Day will play:

Speaking to NME.COM about the concerts ahead of their final UK show at Wembley Arena last night, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said: "Playing Wembley Stadium is kind one of those moments in your career when you just go holy shit!

"It's going to be great because Wembley has a long tradition of rock concerts with the likes of U2, Foo Fighters and Muse playing here in the past and we're just happy to be part of that. It'll be great to play in Manchester too."

The singer said he'd also like to bring their musical 'American Idiot' over to the UK at some stage.

"We'd love to bring it to London, it'd be great," he said. "We'd have it right next door to 'Thriller'."

The production, which features the album in its entirety as a soundtrack and songs from their current album '21st Century Breakdown', has already been staged at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in California and the band are hoping to bring it to Broadway in New York.
