Volcano Worry.....I've been reading numerous 'oooh but it's neighbour Katla is much bigger and ALWAYS erupts after this one and could totally bring about BLACK SKIES OF DOOM FOR YEARS TO COME' stories all morning.

my fault. like typing in illness symptons and keeping going through the search results until you convince yourself a persistent coldsore could, in fact, be necrotising fascilitis.

anyway. i'll chill out now.

SUN FOR G2010! (and i'm a fellow ginger too! bring on the factor50!)

Is it too early to get the 'sun dance' going? I think it links in quite well with getting fit for glasto...only good will come of it.

Its all about confidence...if we all beam confidence and are positive of sunshine and merriness then it shall work...it did in 2008, flip flops at a festival - unbelievable.

And Glasto weatherwatch was by far my favourite pastime from 4 weeks before the festival...let it be known now that I have had a word with him upstairs and he has advised that he shall 'give out' this year as it is going to be an almighty summer...

you heard it here first....the headlines will read....GLASTO 2010 - WHAT A SCORCHER!!!

The volcano also troubles me slightly, though not so much it's impact on the weather, but if it keeps spewing out crap for weeks, like they think, then it could lead to further air space shutdowns and plane cancellations which could put a halt to bands etc from being able to actually make it to the festival if they're flying in. Well it had better pack it in smartish as I have tickets to see Gill Scott Heron, The National, Pavement and Band of Horses of the next month and a bit and if that accursed volcano prevents these dates from going ahead i shall be quite furious!

And, to add weather related relevance to this post, lots of ash in the air can be very detrimental to weather! (I forget the exact science behind it)

I refuse to take long range weather forecasts seriously... unless they say that it's going to be dry & sunny.

1999 was almost perfect. But it did start to piss down about a minute into Travis playing Why Does It Always Rain On Me on Saturday afternoon. I shit you not.

I would like to apologise for the rain on Sunday night last year it was entirely my fault. For the first G day since Saturday 2004 (and I have been at all of them) I left the campsite in footwear that was not wellies. I did this on the basis that it was hot and sunny having had to do an emergency heat related evacuation of the tent. You know the ones, where you're really knackered and could do with another couple of hours kip but you feel like a roast potato and you just CAN'T STAND IT IN THERE ANY LONGER. Anyway yes, this was clearly a serious mistake and I promise to wear my wellies for every minute of Glastonbury from now on.

NO RAIN

NO COMPROMISE

Awesome. I have a daft Che Guevara hat I got from Cuba that I wear on daft hats day. It's great, though the hat hair I get isn't. I end up looking like a saucepan.

Anyway - I'm afraid I don't have much time for anyone who says 'we don't want it too hot' Because I DO. I've had to endure 5 wet Glastonburys (pushing the truth slightly - the point being it has rained at some point at ALL of them) so I think I deserve my 6th and final Glastonbury to be a scorcher.

If it upsets people, well then they'll know what it felt like in 2007, when after 2 years away after the flood year, we had shit weather for 3 and a half days and was unbearable and cold by the end.

It's been a toss winter with snow, rain etc. Very, very cold. I don't like the cold.

So I intend to be a selfish bastard and campaign for out and out HEAT. And I don't mean the shitty celeb rag, either.

Now I don't want rain (though bizarrely 2007 was one of my favourite Glastonburys - bit odd me! :P ) but I wouldn't mind a few clouds.......

Had a bone marrow transplant a few years ago & the nasty chemo they give you first has left my skin really sensitive & am not supposed to sit out in the sun much so last year was a bit of a nightmare for me with all that near constant sun.

So sun with a few clouds every now & again would be a compromise that would suit me! Hope that doesn't upset all your sun people too much........ :P

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
