BBC weather update for the week- looks too good to be true--

Summary

Hotting up. Still dry.

We've been on the wrong side of the ridge of high pressure so it's been cool and dry. We are about to switch into warming up mode where sunshine and heat predominate. Good news if you're growing only cactii.

Monday 21 June 2010 to Sunday 27 June 2010

The smell of summer

We start the week with the Summer Solstice and fittingly, day by day, the sun will lift temperatures incrementally. In England and Wales, this will be under mostly cloud-free skies. In Scotland and Northern Ireland more cloud is likely with a few showers, especially on Wednesday. The weekend could bring us 29 degrees C.

You have to love the Daily Mail. When rain was predicted they couldn't help but chuckle and guffaw as it looked like we'd get wet and muddy, but now it seems as if the festival has been cancelled.

To be honest, I'm surprised that they're not the official newspaper of this thread as they love a nice Hitler pic.

Let's not get carried away folks, keep your focus, the last thing we need is a cheeky last minute backlash from the cheese eating surrender monkeys!

By way of granting a concession to the weather gods, I've chucked an extra waterproof coat in, wellies are going in the boot tonight (in addtions to walking boots and gaiters) and I have a steely resolve to face whatever is thrown at me. All that said, after Friday neraly runined my weekend, I fell in love with the lovely coutryfile weather lady on Sunday!

happy times ahead

Why it's gonna be sunny?

That French low pressure had a massive row with the gathering clouds, have refused to play ball for next week, and are now heading north in a whimper.

    • Hi Everyone!   I need your help. I'm trying work out who was playing at The Wishing Well at 3am on the Monday morning at the 2025 festival - this was once the official setlist had ended. The music was down tempo, bass heavy, kept evolving, just mesmerising. Anyone have any ideas? and/or was there as well?

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
