Don't forget to bring your waterproofs anyway people. If you don't you'll anger the weather gods. I made that mistake in 1998 and 2005 and look what happened.

My huge beam at the COuntryfile weather report must have looked unhinged. However I could almost feel you guys all over the country punching the air in victory as it just went on and on and ended in the predicted maybe 30 degrees. I was happy for me but I could almost feel lil happy bubbles from you lot as well and it was cool imagining how your faces must have looked watching it.

You done good guys.

Now, you only have a short while to pull this one off but if you could turn your collected efforts to the football and bring in a similar result then I for one would thank each and every one of you. Well literally I wouldn't but I'd give you a wee mental huzzah which is almost as good

Cheers ears, hope you all have the best fest :)

Updates for today:

ECM: Dry :)

GFS: Possibly a shower on Sat or Sun (but only possibly) :)

GFS Ensemble: Dry :)

Norwegians: Possible light shower on Thursday :)

Met Office: Dry on the proper charts to Friday - some chance of showers mentioned and possible thunderstorms if it gets hot on the long range :)

Meteo: Dry :)

JackOne: Possible chance of thunderstorm/rain on Sat/Sun, but overall dry :)

The nearer we get, the better it gets. The only real problem could be the heat. If it gets too hot we could get thunderstorms, but I am extremely optimistic today.

Definitely still cautious...this seems all too good to be true. I am reminded of Mr Stimpson from Clockwise...

It's not the despair, Laura, I can take the despair. It's the HOPE I can't stand

Ian Ferguson has a very detailed (and good) BBC Points West Glasto Weather report here.

He's also on the Netweather Glastonbury forum spreading the German vibe and he's checking all the sources, so we finally have a dedicated professional. I'd just check his site from now on and ignore all others except JackOne.

If the broad-scale forecast trend remains steadfast, then there's a growing likelihood of seeing dry conditions prevail right throughout the event. The dry, warm, largely sunny theme evolving from Monday until at least Friday certainly has strong forecast confidence; it's from Saturday into Sunday that some forecast models have tended to show varying degrees of divergence and a chance of some showers.

Well Done everyone!

I thought I had blown it by having a dry (if intermittently chilly) wedding on Saturday!

I am off for the posh bit of my honeymoon now (that'll be the posh bit that places me less than 40 miles from Glastonbury for Wednesday morning!) and won't be back on the boards till after the fest - so keep up the good work and lets all just have the best week ever!

NRNC!!!

aye - not only that but consider that a free rag like the metro will not have their own weather team, they glance at the met office and speculate based on that.. what they'll have seen is that there is a 10%-20% chance of precipitation, increasing marginally as the week goes on. my guess is this increase is due to a low pressure warm front, which can bring a chance of thunder storms in hilly areas.

They're playing the odds that at some point there will be a sprinkling of rain - any amount of which can turn glastonbury into a swamp. over the course of 5-days this is likely, but in general i think the weather is looking promising.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
