I was just thinking

Given the way the weather has been through July, and the fact that as I speak it's pissing down outside with no hint of it letting up, I think we were really, really fortunate with the weather at this year's fest.

I said before we went that I'd trade the rest of the summer for a dry Glastonbury, and it looks like I might have ended up doing just that!

So yeah, just wondering how often that works out; that the Glastonbury weekend is one of the few dry(ish) ones!

I think I said this last year but I rate my summer by how good Glastonbury has been. As long as I get a good Glastonbury I continue to feel fine about whatever else happens.

If it's the opposite and it shines the rest of the time and rains for Glastonbury, it would make me sad, thinking "Oh why couldn't it have been like this for Glastonbury" all summer long!

One of the things that has been good about the last couple of years has been seeing how well the site has dried out after a drenching on Thurs/Fri. In previous years you knew that if it did that early in the festival, you could write the weekend off as a mud slog even if it stayed dry after that. It's nice now to still have hope of a good weekend if it chucks it down early on.

As much as I had the best time, I'm afraid it was too nice weather for me.

I vaguely recall some rain one night, however, the heat made it unbearable. If you stay up most the might in a state of intoxication then you expect to be able to sleep in till about 12 then get up and do it again. Sadly the morning heat made it impossible to stay in my tent or asleep past about 7am!!!!!

2 hours sleep from 5-7am for 4 nights on the trot and waking up sweating means i really couldn't function properly on Sunday.

I'm quite happy with a bit of rain. Wellies and poncho's were invented for a reason!

The weather was a dream looking back. The only time I wished for rain was when I was trying to kip in my baking tent at 9am on Sunday morning after a night out partying. But just being able to sit on dry ground and grass and relax around the site was beautiful!

It wasn't too bad in 2008 either..

May/June seems to have been lovely for the last few years with July and August being pretty grim. If it means we get sunny Glasto's I'm happy for that trend to continue..

I have been every year since 99.

This year at Glasto , the Weds night was the best for light etc at dusk that I have ever seen.

It did not seem to get darkish till way past 10.00 pm !

It was beautiful

Not longer after Glasto I went camping in Cornwall and we got heavy rain most days

This year the same as last year, when people mention there was rain I REALLY have to think hard and try and remember what they were/are referring to. I'm doing it again sitting here! Erm...oh yes...storm Thurs night...and after that?...was there something on Friday? I remember it being pretty muddy underfoot but know it was proper nice by midday on Saturday. Do recall the wettening at midnight on Sunday night but was all safe in the CT tipi and was out partying by 2am and we got back before the 5am downpour....

The weather was fine...apparently this July was the wettest on record...I beg to differ...where have the floods been...anyone remember 2007...now THAT was wet...but again...Glasto...not a prob...loved every minute of it!

If you want to feel hot in a tent id suggest you try Benicassim!! Went this year for the 1st time and that heat is another level! Anything at glasto after that is freezing!!

The heat lead to unfortunate issues with not being able to consume the vast amounts of litreage of Burrowhill, Heck and Black Rat Cider I had brought with me...or so it seemed...

luckily tho...the cloud covering of Sunday afternoon and slightly lower temps compared to Saturday meant that nearly all the gut busting yet tasty liquid got hammered relatively swiftly with the help of my fellow CT Pyramid party attendees!

And a rather squiffy early evening...anyone remember the Bhangra at the Bandstand??? :(
