Java Script Error

keep getting this every time i go to a new page on efests, i've cleared all my cookies/temporary internet files/etc

its annoyinnnnnnnn, what can i do?

sotimes i have to click it off about 6 times before it goes away

Have never had any trouble before, but I keep getting a Java Script Error message as well. Am not remotely teccie, but presumed it was a problem with the site rather than with my pc as I don't have a problem on any other sites.

It is annoying, but then again the only option I had was to go on VF and all I got there was bloody pictures of kittens, which was just plain damned annoying, so I will live with this

Ok, by the looks of it, this is a problem with the OpenX adserver calls. Whilst all the ads on the site seem to be coming our of Adtech (in the top 3 of commercial adservers IMO).

A call is being made to:

http://dionysus.efestivals.co.uk/openx/www/delivery/ajs.php?zoneid=7&cb=02560520689890389634....

This is returning a non-Javascript reponse

OpenX has been installed, but no configuration file was found.

This is what's causing the error, the browser is expecting a javascript respose but the OpenX adserver is sending back a text (mimetype text/html) response. Chrome and FF are ignoring these, IE8 (at least) is alerting this error to the user.

So a fix would require resolving the issue with the OpenX installation.

(This is what I do for a job btw :-)

I'm guessing that you are all now using IE8, and it's something to do with IE8 (and Microsoft doing things wrong .... again) that's causing the problems.

Anyhow, I'm looking into this as an urgent matter, and hope to have it sorted shortly.

I have a vague memory of doing something to the openX ad server on Friday, so perhaps I screwed it somehow.

Anyway, all calls to that ad server should now have been removed (and so cured the error) while I look into the problem.

is anyone still getting errors now when accessing this thread?

If you are, could you please post to say what operating system (Windows XP, Vista, etc) you're using, and which browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc) and which version?
