i have a friend who works in a car garage in shepton mallet and he was told by someone he tells me is ME's secretary that prodigy are headlining the sunday night on the other stage also that status quo are playing the pyramid on sunday. the thing that worries me however is the fact he was told girls aloud are performing at some point. don't shoot me, i'm just the messenger!

the thing im most outraged about in this post is the original posters view that earbleeding Glasvegas have the potential to headline or even be second to top on the Other.

Its surely the Prodigy though if were honest, which in truth is tragic as by god do i want to see blur.

Agreed. Saw them in the JP last year and although I quite like their anthemic sound on CD they were bloody lifeless and dull live.

The View played exact same slot, only a few months after their first album, so in some ways Glasvegas will be better qualified than them.

And they are 'co-headlining' Reading's second stage.

But I'm not sure the bookers realise how boring and crap they are live. Especially if they are on before someone lively like Kanye West or The Prodigy.

imagine The Prodigy bashing out Warriors Dance and all their classics at Glasto :P

Have seen them twice within a year and they have yet to not amaze me.

Each suggestion made on this thread as to who will be headlining sounds great, if it is Kanye i'll be pleased means I can make a sign depiciting him as a Gay Fish.

Really?

Are we talking about the same Placebo, that average indie band from the 90's that did 'Nancy Boy'?

Compared to The Streets, probably one of the biggest selling acts in this country this century who have had 4 top 10 albums (2 number 1's) and 12 top 40 singles all in the last 6 years?

...it's funny how people's perceptions of how popular a band is depends on whether they actually like them. I'm afraid the figure of 10m album sales for placebo is right (they are huge in spain and over in asia), while poor old mike skinner is yet to clear 5m in total sales (doesn't do a lot outside of the UK and Ireland, and bizzarely, Belgium??)...

So was the story about the mate actually true or a piss take :) I'll take any hint of The Prodigy playing tbh...

Basement Jaxx must be a likely candidate aswell judging from past Glastonburys?
