When's live back up?

Anyone know why I get a 'media update required' message when I try and play any xvid/divx when not signed into live? Doesn't do it on my old 360 upstairs when that's not signed into live...

god damn microshaft.

Have you transferred profiles from your old to new? The old licences registerred to your old machine mean that when you transferred over to the new console, those licenses are now only available when signed in Xbox live in order to verify you are in fact who your profile is saying you are.

Or you may simply need to update the drivers. Only way to do that is via internets.

There's a licence-transfer system on the main site if that is the cause.

Not sure if this has already been posted in this thread, but those anticipating Fallout 3 at the end of October might be interested to know that Fallout 1 is available to play for free on GameTap. Was playing it all weekend, and forgotten just how incredibly great it is.

according to PSM3 magazine uncharted 2 is due out sometime on 09, naughty dog has put another jak and daxter sequel on hold to concentrate on uncharted.

and some of my favourite news, bomberman ultra will be released on the ps store before christmas:

Forget Killzone 2, forget LittleBigPlanet, the big title this year for PS3 is Bomberman. Or at least Hudson seem to think so. If you can’t get enough of tiny little men dropping massive bombs out of what must be their arses like some bizarre cartoon chicken, you’ll no doubt be shitting bricks at the thought of 8 player online Bomberman this Winter.

Bomberman Ultra, such as it is, will retain ‘classic gameplay elements’ and will feature ‘gorgeous high-definition graphics’. Basically, it’s a port of Bomberman Live on the 360, but presumably ‘Live’ is a swear word on the PSN, so they called it Ultra.

Online play is nice, but we want 7 player local play. In fact, scrap that, one of us can use the Blu-ray remote, so make it 8 players. Unless of course the Blu-ray remote takes up one of the player slots. We’ve never tried it. Perhaps it does, perhaps it doesn’t. We feel the need for some essential investigative journalism.

Anyway, with 14 arenas (look, one of them vaguely resembles a casino), 50 (count ‘em) character costumes (one of which should really be a chicken) and ‘frantic, explosive action’ we reckon this is a 10/10 right out of the bag. Good job, Hudson, saving the PSN one port at a time.

I'm so disappointed

in spite of the negative reviews I saw speedball II tournament for a fiver on game, and thought it would be worth the gamble,, bring back some nostalgia with a revamp of a classic. perhaps it'll grow on me, but it just seems they've ripped out any soul the game had. really gutting.

in other news though, started playing psychonauts last night which I downloaded off steam a little while back....first impressions but looks like a quality platformer/story...the creator is same as grim fandango, so sure to be some funny dialogue. seems fun.

bout half way through on vandal hearts now...enjoying it; turn based rpg, making for slightly chess style approach to battles. good game though.

race driver:grid came today aswell, so gonna have a blast tonight.
