I really can't see why I'd ever move from 360 to PS3. I've had the rrod and it sucks, but I'd still prefer to have my 360. Better games, better online etc - but it's all personal preference really!

gunna buy some psn games, what games do people reccomend, there are a few definates:

warhawk

super stardust hd

wipeout hd

burnout paradise

burnout and wipeout are released today as dlc.

what other games are worth a purchase, i am thinking of buying pain, yet it looks like it could get very boring very fast.

so what happens with a rrod then? do you have to send it off to get fixed or invariably does it mean your xbox's knackered and you'll have to buy a new one?

the apparent frequency of them makes me glad I've got my PC....which over the next 6 months (most oct/nov) has some gems coming out:

pro evo, far cry 2, fallout 3, call of duty 5: world at war, football manager 2009, grand theft auto 4, left 4 dead, street fighter IV, empire: total war, starcraft 2 , resident evil 5....

....and then other games that might be alright like wolfenstein 3, mirror's edge, ghostbusters, red alert 3, quantum of solace, shaun white snowboarding, nhl 2009, tiger woods 2009, new prince of persia, tombraider, spinter cell, need for speed etc,

and then in development, new aliens, new duke nukem, alan wake; but my most anticipated in development is deus ex 3.

Anyone played Duke Nukem 3D yet? Might downlaod that, still refreshing even in this age of hi-def normal mapping and all that other fluff.

The reviews for PURE look f**king awesome, I might just grab it. And surprise surprise BIA Hells Highway is a massive disappointment, could have told them that 3 years ago when the first gameplay footage was released. It looked poo then, and by all accounts its poo now. could have saved them the dev costs for 3 years there.

pre order cod:waw from Game online and you get a beta token for when the beta is launched next month.

360 only though, so all you PS3 w*nkers will just have to wait until the bigger boys have made sure its OK for you.

played it on the N64 loved that game...

And yeah, this fan boy shit is bull. IMO you just like the console all your mates have, cause that's how the Online mode gets good...thats just a fact...

joking aside....I'm playing vandal hearts at the moment; got an emulator for ps1 (see, you can do that on pc aswell )....tis an ace little turn based rpg I remembered playing when young over a friends, but never had the chance to have a proper go myself...tis good fun.

...also got super mario 64 (with project64, works fine with the xbox controller)

faster; better graphics; more powerful; more functional; can access porn; illegally download movies; has pretty much every good xbox game come out for it...often with new content; better control/aim for fps with wasd; greater online capabilities (I play 54 player cod4, think max is 64); much cheaper games (opening rrp usually £25); can plug into a hi-def tele...

purple monkey - yeah fair dos, my post was slightly tongue in cheek anyways, but I do prefer the options on a PC now, in large due to being able to use a 360 controller with the PC; a huge benefit, which negates a lot of the difference to me, and makes me feel more like I'm playing a console.

I don't have a HD television, so playing xbox games (that are released on the PC) with an xbox controller on a widescreen monitor at 1400 x 900 suits me fine; I don't see any negative difference, other than perhaps having to wait slightly longer for it to be released (and a lack of beat em ups released on the PC)....instead to me, it runs well/better, extra content (ie gears or war, assasin's creed), cheaper price of games....these factors suit me personally, although I can understand some people don't want to see a PC when they get home.

the main xbox games that've I've been interested in, have come out on PC aswell (simultaneously or later); gta IV, gears of war, mass effect, grid, assasin's creed, pro evo, football manager, bioshock, virtua tennis, tiger woods, NHL, Madden etc....the only games I can think of at the top of my head that I'd want and that aren't out yet (or coming out) would be halo 3, force unleashed and soul calibre....I quite enjoy my strategy games though which PC generally strong for, ie. rome and medieval total war, company of heroes, world in conflict, supreme commander etc.

as for large multiplayer, cod4 is the first game I've properly played online, but I love it with 54 players. I enjoy the faster action and it feels a greater achievement when you get 20+ killstreaks, due to greater number of people shooting at you.

It just suits me better....at this moment.

p.s. what do you do in the computer business then? games developer, games tester?
