Do you think they'll announce more acts before the ticket release this weekend?
I know the festivals sells out rather fast in recent years and I'm not ready to commit with the current line-up. Also, the accommodation in Hasselt is rather sparse (and expensive)

I think that this wednesday they will drop 15 or 20 names. Some Main and Marquee names and some of the headliners of the smaller stages.

PKP's main strenght is that they host a lot of contemporary international acts for every taste (pop, electronic, rap, indie, rock, punk...) and they sold the last two editions very quickly because the sales started when they had already announced 40-50 quite big names.
So I'm pretty confident that another drop will come this week, probably tomorrow, as they usually announce batch of names on Wednesdays.

Combitickets sold out in 35 minutes. Unbeliveable!!!

Impressive feat.

Didn't get one myself, purely due to the dire (in my opinion) Main stage lineup, it's just not for me this year, would have only gone to see Florence.

Will look out for a resale ticket if the Club, Lift and Marquee lineups are decent

What’s even more impressive is how they did turn things around in a few years. They were struggling with sales just before COVID and nowadays they’re selling out combis like it’s nothing.

Line-up is decent so far but I would not have gone for a combi straight away. A Saturday ticket could be an option as it’s the strongest day at the moment imo.

Curious to se how many resellers there will be in August. I think hundreds.

I would only add Hellfest to this level of interest and record-selling times. Indeed, impressive how they turned things around. Last time I was at pkp was in 2022 and remember there were tickets available few weeks before the festival.

Curious what they'll add this year to keep the momentum and cement this status. Closeby is Sziget, but so far nothing too interesting there. I remember pkp used to overlap a lot with Reading and Leeds, but this time they share more acts with All points east. A new festival (at least to me) in the same weekend in Istanbul just announced Jack White and The Kills. Rock en Seine have a solid line-up and is sold out for some time. All in all, the end of August is shaping to be new peak for tours and European festivals. Less than a decade ago, August was pretty bleak...

Few factors as to why they suddenly started selling out - tailoring to Dutch kids who missed out on Lowlands tickets when that was an near instant sellout who've then stuck with PKP, the Fred effect in 2024 and Chappell in 2025, a really good media team, paying over instalments, and most importantly, getting the first names out early. The days of announcing in April seem somewhat barely believable now. people want to get their summer plans sorted early and the organisers have realised this.

Plus obviously it's a great festival with superb organisation (aside from cancellations)

Whether it carries on like this remains to be seen, but no reason for it not to.

Deafheaven also playing this, according to their  Instagram post (the date is blurred out, but it's clearly Pukkelpop)

Indeed it is! Great addition!
and that's another act from the APE line-up for 23 August. Would love to see Esdeekid and Wisp added from this day too 🙂

With a weekend ticket still under 300€ including free train ride from any Belgian train station and way back. Good beers for 3.60€ per 0.3L (Hapkin was 0.4L at PKP Cafè last year), free drinking water points, a lot of toilets, a very relaxed atmosphere and the possibility to attend to a lot of shows, mostly with no hurry...
Nowadays a lot of festivalgoers knows PKP is always a good choice.

Wisp

Crazy how we were no more than 100 attendees at her show in 2024.
The fact she played at 12.15 clashing with The Atomic Orchestra didn't help.

  • 2 weeks later...

Can't say I love the last announcement.
Apparently the techno & dance line-up is very good. Kudos for Apparat!
Still, I miss quality solid rock acts.
Talking bout rap - I'm not a fan of the decision to book Jpegmafia instead of Esdeekid from the APE day. Not terrible though, jpeg is very good.
dunno, maybe it's just my taste...
They'll be fully sold out for the next announcement so we'll see their plan for the rest of the line up.

Damn, this was the European festival to attend for me this year. The late lineup drop didn't really work for me, but I seriously wish I'd waited now!!

Confused. Did you get tickets or not?

Once that most of the big and medium names of the line-up have been revealed, I am very happy with Friday and Saturday. Both days are too packed for me, so I am thinking in going to London on Sunday for All Points East Festival to see some of Pukkelpop names that will clash these days plus AFI & Idles. If I can see bands as Basement or Amyl in London I am sure that this will help a bit to avoid painful clashes in PKP.

Pukkelpop Sunday is not made for me. Neither Main Stage (full of pop) and Marquee/Club/Backyard bands fits in my musical tastes (with a couple of exceptions as Chat Pile or Kurt Vile)

    • I thought some time back that I could see Get Down Services getting a slot in Woodsies
    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
    • Loads of people have to listen to music they don't like all day, while at work!   Not much different.
    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
